I don't know if I agree with you that if the Foleo worked as a Treo companion that the market would be inconsequential. However, as described by Palm, it is niche product catering to smartphones particularly Treos smartphones (at least at the moment) and that is a niche of a niche market. So by definition the market would be small. Nevertheless, I think there is utility to a device that allows for a big screen and keyboard for the things done on a Treo that would be aided by a big screen and keyboard like creating/editing a spreadsheet or word doc.
In any event, it seems to me that this capability is the Foleo's sole distinguishing trait and if it can not do this reliably and well then I am not seeing the point because it surely cannot compete as a compact/mini laptop. And I would suggest that if that is what the Foleo ultimately is then the market for it will definitely be inconsequential.
