Thanks for the thoughtful reply. While you're (presumably) correct that Palm and/or Sprint would compensate any developer for a bundled app, that's not really the issue, as I see it. Sooner or later, developers need to see that there's money to be made from us end consumers. There can only be so many bundled apps, after all, before that well runs dry. Eventually we need to start spending, ourselves, in order for the flood gates to open.

As I said, I really don't care whether Documents To Go in particular turns out to be for pay or not. I'm just concerned that by petitioning for ANY app to be free at this early stage, we might be sending a message to developers, however unintentionally, that we're stingy. I'd rather they get the impression that they can bank on us as a good market as soon as possible. Make sense?
