Default Sprint Pick 3

Has anyone heard anything about this?

From Phonenews.com (http://www.phonenews.com/content/view/2379/1/):

A new currently unadvertised calling feature to Sprint voice plans.

The service, called Sprint Pick 3 is identical to My Circle from Alltel and myFaves from T-Mobile, where favorite numbers are added to a list and allows for unlimited calling to and from selected numbers. The main difference between the aforementioned services is in pricing.

While T-Mobile adds a $10 premium to MyFaves service plans, and Alltel charges a $20 premium for their respective MyCircle service plans, Sprint customers with voice plans totaling $40 a month or higher can add the feature at no additional charge on each line. Those customers with plans priced lower than $40 can add the feature for $5 a month.

No... but I'm wondering if I can put my grandcentral.com number in as a circle number and get free calls to everyone... lol...

Not that I need it... Heck, I have over 2000 minutes now that I don't hardly use.... I bounce around 500 minutes during peak use, some months, not many. With this pick 3, that would drop to almost 200 minutes per month.

I just emailed them to add the Sprint Pick 3 to my SERO account. They said I will receive a response within the next 24-48hrs so I will be sure to provide an update. I hope they will allow you to add the feature to your existing phone & not make it an exclusive feature for certain phones the way T-Mobile did.

Well, I received a reply from Sprint this morning but unfortunately, its not what I wanted to hear.

"Thank you for contacting Sprint. I will be happy to assist you regarding the Pick 3.

I wish to inform you that the Pick 3 service is available only for the account which has been converted into Ensemble billing.

Currently, the Ensemble billing accounts can only avail the Pick 3 service. To avail Pick 3 service you are required to wait until your account converts into Ensemble billing.

The conversion of the accounts into the Ensemble billing system is not a manual process. Once, your account will be converted into Ensemble billing you will be informed regarding the same and then you can enjoy the Pick 3 Service.

I appreciate your understanding regarding the same.

Thank you for emailing us. It was a pleasure assisting you and I look forward to more opportunities to serve you in future. Have a great day!"

Interesting about the Ensemble Billing.

So it sounds like it may be offered when that conversion is completed on your account.

The bad news, for some at least, is during that conversion reportedly some of us will loose our discounts on top of Sero e.g. employee, university, loyalty, etc, which are not supposed to be added.

I will be PO'd if they remove my 18% university discount. I fought for months to get that thing added.

there is no doubt other carriers like Verizon will follow the "myfaves" calling features soon. Most of the plans start at 39.99, does it mean you still have to pay. And 3 numbers are not enough, what if you want to pick 5 or even 10.

You should not be mad at having something you were not suppose to have in the first place... should be happy you had the discount for so long.

You should be PO'd if they audit your account, then want the money you owe them for the discount you were not suppose to have.

So, Sprint is changing to a new billing system? And, when this happens we loose our SERO + 20% employee discount?

Is this for sure happening and if so, when?

It's happening now...but they're doing bunches at a time. You'll be notified when the change occurs via your bill.

And yes, you'll probably loose your discount on top of Sero. It seems to be an automated process, so not much choice.

Odd...

When I got my account switched to SERO I specifically asked if I would be able to keep my corp. discount and was told yes and, of course, it is still there. If it isn't supposed to be there, why'd they tell me it was and let me keep it?

I have been trying to add this service over the last few days. Today I got retentions on the phone and they told me that my plan was already a great deal and that I could not add this feature. I told them it could be added and I even said that I would pay $5.00 to have it added. I am in a trial with the Centro ( love the phone) so I told her that I would cancel my service if I could not add this feature. She still told me no! I cancelled my service immediately. Call tags are on the way. Good luck Sprint.

An extra $5?

Sprint did the right thing... they need to get a grip on people asking for discounts and perks on top of an already great plan.

Now you can go pay out your a for cell phone service and look back on this and consider the mistake you made.

I only asked for what is available for those who ask.

Sprint Rolling Out Pick 3 Service to Answer T-Mobile myFaves

Written by Humberto Saabedra
Friday, 21 September 2007

Sprint customers have been confirming the existence and addition of a new currently unadvertised calling feature to Sprint voice plans.

As a plan add-on, this places Pick 3 at an advantage to T-Mobile and Alltel, which require the aforementioned service plans to gain access to similar services.

Currently, the service is being slowly rolled out to customers whose accounts have been converted over to the Sprint-owned Ensemble billing system, with the transition from the outsourced P2K billing system not expected to be fully complete until March of next year, which is the reason for the slow addition of the feature.

Customers and employees have also reported that Sprint has been testing this offer for a few months as a way to reduce churn, while other customers have reported being able to add the feature at no cost with lower priced voice plans, while others are unable to add it.

Any changes to phone numbers have to be made through Retentions, as they are the only ones with access to the required system for the feature at this time. There are plans for a web based interface, but with this being a very preliminary and new feature, there are no firm plans at this time.

Article corrected to reflect changes in context and information.

I called this phone number twice ((877) 775-4886) and was able to get pick 3 for all 3 of my SERO lines twice. The first to get Pick 3 on one line and the 2nd phone calls to get the feature added to the other 2 lines.

I just called the number you called then was transferred to retention (b/c they only assist Ensemble customers) & was unsuccessful. My account hasn't been converted as yet to the new billing system but the rep I spoke with stated that even if I was converted, that my SERO plan DOES NOT qualify for Sprint Pick3. I will continue to try but hopefully she didn't put a note in my account warning future reps to NOT add this service to my plan.

I tried...no luck

I have a family plan that runs aroun $120/month, so that wasn't the problem.

I first called (877)775-4886 ... they said I had a business account, so they could not help me. They transferred me to someone else. They said I had special discounts on my current account and couldn't help. They transferred me to someone that could.

This person did not know about "Sprint Pick 3". I told her about it and she was able to find a code, but she couldn't apply it to my account. She put me on hold for about 10 minutes to try to fix it. No luck...she says it can't be added to phones in Pennsylvania...hmm

Maybe I will try again later.

This rocks. Just added it to all three phones on my 2500min shared plan. Yummy!
