These forums have existed for more than half a decade under these guidelines, enforced by a small volunteer moderator staff. Please also see the
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).
General Posting Guidelines- Respect others - Be courteous to other forum members regardless of their age/race/sexual preference/etc. Be tolerant of those who disagree with your opinion and discuss differences in a constructive manner. Personal attacks or name calling will not be tolerated. References to race, religion, sex, or politics are typically not allowed.
- Make relevant, meaningful posts - Every post should add value, whether through technical value or community value. Threads and posts that do not further the community will be locked or deleted at the discretion of the moderators.
- Search! Search! Search! - Your question probably has been answered or discussed. Before posting a new thread, please use the search feature at the top of each page first. Even though a user may be posting a question that has already been answered, we are always polite and give the link to where the answers can be found. We never tell them to "search for yourself."
- Post in the right forum - Please take a moment to look through the forums to see where a new topic should go.
- Off Topic forum - The Off Topic (OT) forum is for general discussions that fall out of the range of smartphones. There is a specific sub-forum for political discussions and word games. Threads in the OT forum that are not productive or are inflammatory will be closed.
The following will result, without question, in your post/thread being edited, deleted, or locked by a moderator, and the appropriate user being warned or banned:
- Illegal activities - Do not post or request links, warez, serial numbers, ROMs, or any other copy protected property
- Foul and inappropriate language - This forum is used by people of all ages, so please keep posts and links family appropriate. We use software filters to block some common language use and will not tolerate any attempts to beat such filters.
- Personal Attacks - Do not flame, insult, or post a personal attack against another. Be courteous, not rude. Do not troll or respond to trolls. Posters adding on to the same flaming or insulting post can earn the same infraction.
- Use Private Messaging (PM) - Do not post threads targeted at or about a specific user. To contact someone, click on the user's name and select "Send a Private Message." Also, Private Messaging is private; do not publicly post a Private Message.
- Private Info is private - Do not post personal contact information of yourself or others. This includes email addresses, phone numbers, and addresses. If a user wants to contact another, they must use the email or PM features of our forum software. This is for your protection.
- Spam - Do not spam our forums with unrelated products or services. Advertising for acceptable products or services may only be placed in the Marketplace forum.
- Crossposting - Do not post your question in multiple forums.
- Taking Threads Off Topic - (aka Thread Crapping) While the interplay of a conversation on these forums will naturally wander, users must not intentionally try to derail a thread from its original topic.
- Trolling - Do not engage in repeated attempts to start arguments, harass users, or draw users into a fight just for the sake of it. Flame bait posts or thread will be closed and/or deleted and can earn the poster an infraction.
- Multiple usernames - Do not create more than one account. You are only allowed to register one account.
- Complain about moderators - All decisions to delete posts, edit posts, and lock threads, are final, and not up for discussion. Posting a thread complaining about moderation may result in a one-week ban on your account. Send a PM to a moderator if you have a question about a locked/edited posting.

Appeals/Complaints
Our community has the highest regard for the individuals who volunteer their time to be a moderator. We trust that any action that a moderator does will follow the above guidelines. Every day, our moderators make hundreds of edits, and thus, due to volume
all actions by moderators are final.
If you feel that you are being treated unfairly, or have a question about an action, you may contact the moderator, or send a PM to one of the editors. Communicating with us will not change any past moderations but may influence future actions.
