I have no need or interest in going on the internet with my cell phone. I do like the basic pda functions and the fact that all my contacts and data going back several years is able to be moved from device to device. My Centro works fine except that that the buttons are too small for my hands and not as nice as the Treo. Here are my questions:

Can I just change to a 700p or 750p and not be required to purchase the data package from vzw?

If I can change, which is the better choice?

I am a aging dinosaur and who likes the simplicity of the Treo and Palm OS. It is intuitive and very functional. The Treo Pro is a good smartphone, but the keyboard really is a challenge. I jumped on the Q9C from Dieter's comments and the keyboard is great, but the Q9c is rather slow(but manageable). I just picked up a used 755p on Ebay. Yes it's bigger, heavier and dated. BUT, it has most of what some of us want. Good email/sms device, solid calendar/PIM, decent phone, great keyboard. The only thing missing is the Iphone effect(great screen, music player, picture/movie player) and a diet. Couldn't HTC buy their OS and make a thin 755? By the way, cloud PIMs are for the birds! The Palm execs are playing catch up since the debut of the 650. After about 10 minites she came in and told me that she was having problems hotsyncing the 755. I went and looked at it and saw the message "Installing Handheld Applications" on both the PC and the 755. There were no apps that I was trying to install. Canceled the hotsync (with great problems, rebooted the PC and checked to make sure I was not trying to install anything and tried again. After several tries we gave up and my wife manually entered the couple of quicken entries I had on the 755 and I went back to what I had been doing.

Well I started playing around with the 755 and decided to take a backup before I went very far. Started up NVBackup and I was told it couldn't access the card. OK - I took out the card and reinserted it. Backup worked. Did some more playing around with the Palm and finally did a soft restart.

This morning I tried the hotsync again and it worked.

Did reseating the card fix the problem??? Or was it the soft restart???? Anyone have any ideas.

I'm trying to transfer files(games) from my current 755P(Verizon) to a remanufactured 755P using SanDisk 2GB Micro card in a Treo Micro adapter. I can copy the file to the card, but the new Treo doesn't recognize it. I can reformat in the new Treo and then the old Treo doesn't recognize the card.
