for a while now I have weird problems with my, and my girlfriend's Centros. The problem is that I won't receive calls & messages in 1x (or EVDO sometimes) unless I am in a call already. Meaning my phone won't receive anything, and when I call to check VM or so suddenly everything comes in at once. I'll get 4-5 messages, the VM notifications etc all at once, even though they were hours old. This is very annoying and makes the phone almost unusable. Before being in EVDO helped, but that stopped working, too. It was working just fine until recently and I did not change a thing. Same thing occurred with my girlfriends phone, and there it went away somewhat, but still inconsistent. Is it the phone or is the coverage in our area just horrible, so that only establishing a call will get enough juice to receive the messages?

Also, my battery life suddenly plummeted. Phone froze the other day, I took the battery out to fix it and now it drains dry over night, where it would go for about a week without a charge before. I hope anybody can help me with that. When you open texting app
-press new
-and when you click on the drop down arrow, you can see the list of people you've last send messages to.


How do i delete this log?

The message says:
"Could not edit message. (File:MessageEditorForm.cpp, Line: 86) Continuing may cause further errors in Mail."

I then have the choice to continue or reset and no matter what choice i pick it results in my phone being restarted.

Thinking this was just a phone issue I went to verizon and they sent me a new one, but after I hotsynced the same problem continues to happen. Is there any solution to this problem? I really enjoy the simplicity. It works beautifully with Hotsync and it works perfectly if I send files from my Centro to the laptop. However, to send files from the laptop to Centro requires some effort. I must first press a button on my phone to "undim" the phone. At this point, the laptop IR port will pick up the phone and XP will establish a "link" (a tray icon appears in the XP system tray.) I have set my Power properties to dim after 30 secs. Once the phone dims, the laptop can no longer "see" the phone over IR (the tray icon will disappear.) I have to keep pressing a button on the Centro to keep it "lit" and at the same time transfer the file over. It's not a big deal, but still an annoyance. I changed the 30 sec timeout to 3 mins, but with my phone habits, it drains the battery way too fast. Is there some setting on the laptop or Centro to keep the IR connection established? Beam Receive is set to On, of course. Distance/position doesn't make a difference. The "Receive picture files from camera over IR" (or something like that) option is not checked. I am unsure about the IR port driver settings. Device Manager lists it as an SMC IrCC port. The driver is up-to-date as far as I can tell. (I checked Dell's website.)
