It's really weird it will work when i am on the local wireless. but as soon as i shut it off to use it it won't sync. I have tried ever combination of addresses. My friends got connected to it no problem with their BB's. Any suggestions? I have it set up for HTTPS have the certs on the phone and everything. I am getting restless on what to do. I can access via webmail and everything. Someone please help,

My Google calendar is subscribed to a calendar feed (iCal based) from a calendar that I maintain on an external website . On the external website's calendar I set up a daily repeat event and then deleted some of the occurences in that repeat series.

From the Google calendar side all seems good...the deleted occurences do not show up when I view the information in the web-based Google calendar.

BUT, when my Pre syncs to my Google calendar the deleted occurences DO show up on my Pre's calendar!

Here's some other fun facts:
- Its not anything specific with my profile, set up, device or even the new 1.3.1 issue since my wife's Pre had the same issue when her phone was still on 1.2.1.
- I have a Windows Mobile Treo Pro and use OggSync to sync my Google calendar to that device. IT HAS THE SAME ISSUE, it shows the deleted occurrences on the device's calendar.
- My son's Blackberry handles the exceptions correctly, the deleted occurrences do not show up (using Google's sync client)

So is this simply a case where Google properly handles exceptions to repeat events but the Pre does not? Or is the calendar providing the feed failing to meet some iCal standard that the Pre needs to handle this?

Can anyone else test this scenario? (I know, its kind of a reach but I thought I would ask)

I work as a repair tech at a sprint store and have done this many times and KNOW it works.

First you need to take your Pre/Pixi into a Sprint store and explain to the employee what you need to do. Hopefully he/she won't be completely mesmerized by your request.

MAKE SURE YOU ALREADY HAVE YOUR GMAIL/YAHOO ACCOUNT SET UP AS YOUR DEFAULT CONTACTS ACCOUNT WHEN YOU GO IN.

At the store, they should have a device called a Cellebrite, that is used to transfer contacts from one phone to another. I assume every Sprint store out there has one.. I have been to a great many (both corporate and indirect) and EVERY ONE has had one of these.

All you need the employee to do is setup the Cellebrite to transfer from one Pre to another, and use your device on both the sending and receiving end of it.

After the device is unplugged from the Cellebrite, it will prompt you to upload your contacts to one of your contacts accounts. CHOOSE GOOGLE!!!! Leave your phone alone for a while so it can upload your information.

Now leave the store, go home, log onto your Gmail and look at all of your glorious contacts! You might have some duplicates if some contacts were already in your Google account before, but they are easy to get rid of from your computer.

You will probably also have duplicate contacts in your phone. To remedy this, you will need to delete everything from your palm profile, by going to the 'Backup' icon and turning it off. Confirm to delete the information when prompted. Now perform a partial reset, log back into your profile and DONE!!


I know this may sound like a pain, having to go into a Sprint store, and a partial reset, but trust me, it is endlessly easier than the 'other method' (having to root, export and convert PalmDatabase.db3 file)...

Long time palm / treo / and now pre user. So here's the situation and I'm looking for recommendations....

I have a pre, a home computer running outlook, and send / get mail through att as an email provider. Had this account for 15 years and would like to keep it. I also have a work computer, work email account and outlook, with a separate email address. I would like to be able to sync both computers to my pre to consolidate calendar, contacts, and less so tasks and notes. I was able to cobble that together with a treo, pocket mirror and a usb sync cable. There were occasional dups but I could live with it. Another fun part with the new pocket mirror was the password for syncing. My work computer has the password changed every 30 days. One more kicker, my work computer is at a secure site with no wireless. I can sync it from home with my own wireless if needed.

I did a trail with the new pocket mirror and my work computer. It was ok, but only worked on wireless while at home and only on 1 computer, and is now $30 per computer to sync with ( I believe).

Another kicker, my wife has the same issue... uses a pre, has an established att email account, and has 2 computers to sync to.

Any suggestions? I don't feel like spending $120 to try and link 4 computers to 2 pre's.

All went well & it added all my Yahoo messenger contacts. After realizing I haven't cleaned up my contact list for Yahoo in a long while, I went to my desktop, signed in, & did some housecleaning. I then went back to my Pre, removed the Y! account completely, restarted & then added it back in.

To my surprise, all the contacts I deleted, reappeared! I have confirmed I deleted not only from my Yahoo messeneger, but the Y! address book as well. I have no idea how to get rid of them! Once I remove the Yahoo messener account, they dissappear, but once I add it back in, they reappear!

Anyone else have similar issues? I am wondering if somehow my Palm profile has stored them for some reason, but only displays them when the Yahoo account is added back in...

Any thoughts would be appreciated!
