Official webOS 1.2.0 and 1.2.1 Issues - Page 18

I am having an issue with streaming media. Specifically MLB.com Game Day Audio. Worked before 1.2 not since. I am not 110% sure this is a update issue but my wifes Pre also cannot connect to it.

i know this is an easy fix but some how the copy images action in the web browser doesn't work? i uninstalled all patches and the theme i had. and no change...

is my pre twitching on me? lol HELP!

What mode are you using for the call, phone or speakerphone? I know you said you don't use a headset but just in case you had to switch from that mode it may be possible you are experiencing similar issue to the stuck in headset mode but only kind of? Does the screen turn off on any other calls?

There are 229 apps in the community catalog and 125 in the official catalog with many apps ready or almost ready to go and some still in development (Total . The number in development is unknown unless someone wishes to research every single app that has been announced to be in development. That is almost 3 apps for every day the pre has been out counting the days developers had no SDK to work with to make apps. Android had about 400 apps total around 5 months after it's catalog launched. So palm is getting apps at the same rate. It took a year for android to get 10k apps. Do you honestly expect developers to push out a complete app in a matter of days or less? You can push out a very incomplete app to have people alpha test the tiny amount complete in that short of time maybe. But it takes time to make apps. A lot of devs probably waited until the app catalog was ready for paid apps to begin development. However as we know they are processing the apps into the catalog as a number of devs said they have submitted their apps for it and aren't in it yet. Also they just announced they are changing over to a new way of doing the apps so that they no longer go through all the stuff they go through now to get into the catalog.

In fact they have fully embraced allowing for side loading apps. What this means is we have to give them time to switch over to doing things the new way so that devs get apps out as quick as possible once they are complete. But you have to keep in mind that it can take weeks for a single dev to make an app if not longer depending on the man power working on the app and how complex the app is. I just don't get the whole attitude impatient people are taking on a brand new OS and expecting it to be as mature as the other products that have been out for a year or even years. When the iphone 1st came out you couldn't even put app on it for like what a year and a lot of people were buying them anyways. Heck even years later it still has shortcomings I'm sure tons of people complained about since day one. I'm sure android is the same.

To be honest while both iphone and android are nice platforms I think people really need to do their research before leaving for them. In the end they are not as open as palm is being and I don't know how the updates to the other platforms compare with palm. But so far I have never seen nor heard of a company add functionality and fix bugs as fast as palm is doing currently. It appears to me that webOS has the easiest and most customizability. Apps on android it would appear are compiled (written in C) so you can monkey around with the code to customize. I'm sure the iphone is even less customizable as I don't think the OS even in part is open source and accessible for easy modification. So for me webOS is the right choice including but not limited to the reasons here.

Nope, the screen stays on all the time. Doesn't turn off for any calls. I nearly reached my boiling point when I took an important call today and halfway through, while he was talking, my cheek conferenced him again. I had to apologize profusely and call him back when you can't get out of conference mode. I rarely use speakerphone mode. This all happens when directly on a call. The sensor does not work and my face calls them again. I also noticed that when I call someone, their contacts profile (email/phone, etc) page also comes up and I have to close out of more pages then I used to after the call ends. Today, a call came in from a co-worker and their profile page opened, as well as the conversation page in SMS.

I seriously am just trying to figure out why the sensor is not working. I ran the diagnostics for screens and it said all was okay, even when the phone did not vibrate when my hand covered it. I also tried the "plug head set in, turn on media player, mute/unmute, turn off media, unplug head set" that many have said works. Nada.

This is all just on a basic phone call. If I had the phone on speaker phone, it wouldn't be near my face, so the proximity sensor wouldn't be a factor. All audio works. Any suggestions?

SOOOOO SLOW, oops. But its that slow...big letter yell out loud slow. But not just email, but the phone app., web, pictures...basically my Pre is on Valium and I want it back on Adderall. Any ideas why or what to do?

Also read all/delete all does nada.
Can't send audio/video files in message app.
I keep losing web browser, but I'm connected to wifi full strength. Works again after reboot but what fun is that?

If anyone has any ideas as to which patches may be causing these issues, thanks in advance.

Pre asking for webOS 1.2.1 update again and again. Put up this issue. It is happening to several people.

Similar problem....1.2.1 now causes my Stereo BT to fail and drop connection. Things like DR. Podder play for about 30secs and then the audio gets scratchy and connect drops. Worked great in 1.2, but no go in 1.2.1 and looking forward to 1.3 or WebOS Quick Repair to possibly fix problem if it is patch related??? Not sure, but my two cents... Sorli...

Have looked for this issue, but haven't found anyone else reporting it. I noticed it when I upgraded to 1.2.0. My wife has a Sprint LGLotus, and she uses the signature on her SMS text messages. I used to see those on my Pre. After 1.2.0 I no longer did. I tested (once) and saw that anything I put inside < > brackets does not show when received on the Pre. Rather frustrating since the Lotus automatically puts the brackets around the .sig. I assume this is some kind of "feature" relating to HTML or other formatting???

Anyway is there perhaps a tweak or an option that I have missed somewhere to re-enable viewing brackets and what is inside them??

WebOS 1.2.1 just downloaded to my Pre and asked me whether to install now or later. I already have 1.2.1 installed (as shown on system info) and tweaks installed etc. I don't want to reinstall 1.2.1 unless it is improved somehow -- but then it would probably be 1.2.2 or such.

My wife told me she had received a notification on her Pre (text message, I guess) that an update was available... but she did not know the details. So, I did proactively ask my Pre to check for updates. Next think I knew it was downloading and validating 1.2.1.

Anyone else had the updater download WebOS 1.2.1 a second time after update had already been performed?

Is there any way to prevent and avoid this nuisance going forward ?

My problem was resolved by changing the general setting related to accepting invitations:

Automatically add invitations to my calendar:
-Yes
-Yes, but don't send event reminders until I have responded
-No, only show invitations to which I have responded

I had originally selected 'No". Selecting either one of the 'Yes' choices solves the problem of edited appointments disappearing from the Google Calendar. Apparently, when a change is made on the Pre, syncing makes the item appear like an invitation to Google Calendar.

When originally created on the Pre, no problem, they show up on the Google Calendar just fine..

I am having the exact same issue(s) and almost threw the d@mn Pre out the window today. Any help to solve this issue w/the proximity sensor and 1.2.1 would be greatly appreciated.

Has any one have issue with the head phone? Since I'm have issue with bluetooth in my car so I have been using the head phone that come with Pre. Every since the update, every one I talked to have complainted not able hear me when I use the head phone. This had started after the update.....

went to jax fl from orl fl and tried to find mayo clinic when I got there kept getting not found hsd to turn phone off and back on then it worked fine until I went home to orlando every time I did a search it gave me locations from jaxonville I had location on

this probably seems like a minor issue but when I do a google search from the universal search or the browser search I don't get the News, Local, Images and other options that I used to get. When I go to the actual google site to search they are at the top of the page and you can quickly change a web search to be just an image or news search. Has anyone noticed this missing since 1.2.1?

Can some one please help?? I am running Windows XP, I have WebOS doctor & WebOS Quick Install on my computer. When I try to use WebOS Quick Install, it says "No device Detected". What do I need to do to get it connected correctly
