Unless your running your phones as stock with only apps from the Official catalog, then it is NOT an OS issue. Most of the threads I'm now reading are from users unable to comprehend that the issue they have is typically tied to the tweaks they loaded. Downside to haveing tweaks easy to install. So easy that the users that have absolutely no idea what they are doing are doing it...then they can't figure out why the phone doesn't work right.

if you have tweaked/homebrewed/themed your phone....you need to visit EACH and EVERY thread that deals with all the items loaded to determine if anyone of the things loaded is the culprit.

Unfortunately, due to the tedious nature of tweaking (easier to load than report issues), more often than not, the tweakers just dump their garbage "it don't work" comments in real OS issue threads.

It's possible that a tweak could cause this. However it is hard to say how it would. After all rare unexpected results can happen from code changes though it may be more likely that it is something else going on. Obviously we don't know enough about updates to know how it determines being up to date. Back before 1.1 my pre went through the motions and said it was up to date but the update wasn't installed even though the pre indicated it was. I know if wasn't up to date because some of the packages that were updated from the update were not up to date on mine. So it is possible there is some sort of file or something that webOS flags for the update thing to know to tell you to update or not. I'm just guessing but it seems logical based on experiences I read in addition to mine that either failed to update and say it is up to date or updated and get prompted to update again.

Don't know if this is an update issue, but after updating, my phone locks up. The lock signal doesn't swipe up. Done partial reset ( lost most of my homebrew apps) and still nothing. Going to get a refurb today. Only problem is that Sprint says after 2 exchanges they will then get you a different model. This is will be my second exchange and both exchanges were warranty issues. Needless to say, I'm a bit worried. Well maybe if this one doesn't work I could get a Pixi.

Has anyone else experienced an issue with the phone losing it's cell/data connection after a media sync? After ejecting, when trying to make a call/use the web, the phone says I need a network connection first. Turning Airplane mode On and then Off seems to restore the network connection.

Anybody else having issues with the "Help" application? It just doesn't load any information when you click on a topic. "Failed to load the requested page" is the message it gives. Any thoughts?

ok. i have a issue with the calendar.. i remeber that before my claendar could sycn with my facebook events and know i cannot see that ..:S.. i tryied to remove account and add again and sync but its not working any ideas? why ? thanks

I've looked for this issue in both the Palm website and here and can find no mention of it, which leads me to believe I'm going to have to do a partial erase on my phone.

Before I go that route, here is my problem. Ever since I updated to WebOS 1.2.1, my phone randomly turns off. At first I thought it might have been a problem with the battery coming unseated, but I can't replicate it and it was never happening before. It does seem to happen the most after I try to send a text message. I'll put the phone down, realize I've never gotten a reply, click the on button and realize it's off. When the phone (finally) reboots, the message I had seen sent is no longer there and the recipient has never gotten the message.

It appears to be getting worse too. Yesterday I had three instances where I pull the phone out of the holster and it's off. Once it happened when it was in my hand and I was attempting to call someone back.

I have no tweaks/patches/homebrew on my phone, sadly (embarrassingly? Can never seem to find the time to play with it properly) it's stock with programs only downloaded from the App Catalog

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? Any thought on how to fix this?

Edit: I forgot to mention; I did consider the slider shutdown problem and I don't think it's the culprit. This is a new development and it shutdown once yesterday (mentioned above) when I tried to turn it on to make a call.

does any one else have this problem? Before when I had the old version my middle button didn't do this but now that I have the newest version when my screen turns off the light and the gesture aread blick does anyone else have this problem?

Other carriers may have a regional specific manual however 99% of the manual is applicable to all. In fact a large amount of the FAQ type questions that get asked are answered by reading it.

It is not unheard of that faults can develop in the power hardware over time. This has come up in the past where everything was normal and coincidentally begins happening with something else that is determined to not be the cause. Any number of things can cause the hardware to develop faults. Perhaps some rare flaw in the material results in the fault and covered under warranty. Constant high humidity exposure can cause unexpected behavior related to power. The battery even though appears tight may not be making clean contact with the terminals. Perhaps a wire came loose inside that relays power from the battery to the rest of the device. I could go on to others that require speculating on details I'm not aware of that can also be causes. Chances are like the few others the pre will have to be replaced. And as long as it isn't user damage from abuse or water damage then it is a warranty replacement.

This is a known issue and I'm sure by now many people have reported it to palm. My guess is it is related to implementing code deeper than the lines we uncomment to reveal the LED notification switch in the screen and lock app so that we can use that feature. The actual code that does the LED notification is probably in a binary file and is my best guess as to why the blink happens.

anyone having Blue tooth issues? My S9 moto stereo headset doesn't seem to want to pair since the OS 1.2.1 It will sync then drop..just going back and forth. I have to clear it and assign again.. then works fine. but everytime I use it again, I have to repeat that step. My Jawbone works fine all the time..

Can anyone help me? My Pre still won't update to 1.2.1, the screen just sits there and spins. I only have a couple of apps and have not done any patching. One more thing, my phone no longer vibrates a notification for voice mail. Thanks in advance.

I updated to the new 1.2.1 the other day and noticed after that all my tweaks are disabled and preware or installer apps get errors on opening talking about the "package manager service im running isnt compatible" i uninstalled the manager and preware and reinstalled the manager and then preware however preware wil not show up in my apps. I installed "installer app and it shows up but gives me the same error. Im sure there is a thread for this issue as i dont think im the only one having this issue.
PLEASE someone direct me to the right area or give me some insight.

There is a thread dedicated to preware. I think you may have mentioned something the few others who mentioned not having an icon for preware. Head on over there and see if anyone has the solution. This is one of the rare things that nobody expects to happen and has some strange cause at the root.

when 1.2.1 started hitting others phones i was a good boy and unistalled all my patches and tweeks, and i waited and waited and my phone would never update and would always say i was up to date with 1.2.0. this last weekend i caved to the preasure of wanting to install some tweeks and patches and sure enough lo and behold wake up this morning to find my phone updated to 1.2.1 the majority, if not all, of my tweeks and patches no longer function but going through preware it lists them as installed but it wont let me uninstall or update any of them but rather just gives me this: "Error Removing: See IPKG Log" please help or direct me to where i need to go.

YES! As a precaution I opened Quick Install and deleted the last few apps and a theme that were installed the same day, and everything seemed to return to normal.

I had a problem with patches left on during a partial reset, and they don't show up in either Preware or WOSQUI. I was advised to run the WebOS Repair Utility with "compatability overide" selected in options. This will delete your patches and/tweaks, but you'll be able to install them again, fresh. Might want to check it out for yourself.

I know there's a patch for "forwarding messages" - which is cool. BUT... why not the ability to simply shift-tap a single bubble and have it select the text to copy?

I think only in RARE cases would I ever want to copy an entire conversation... so the addition of this feature BEFORE the native ability to forward and/or select (and copy) a single message bubble is definitely a head-scratcher...

It appears that the Sprint Nav/Google Contacts integration is not working for a small percentage of users, including myself. So far, as reported in the poll:

, less than 20% (3 users including myself) have reported a failure with this integration, however one has subsequently reported that it has started to work for him. I suspect that the actual percentage is even lower, but so far there have been very few respondents to determine an actual percentage.

In any case it has not been fixed for all on WebOS 1.2.0.
