I wouldn't call that a bug. As thers's no indicator for what color and line thickness you've selected, reverting to the defaults makes sense after the page gets cleared.

That being said, there should be indicators for those, ASAP.

A note on this: If you've changed the settings around, then clear the screen, just tap on the settings button and tap again and they are restored.

Whats up guys.
Hopefully someone can help me out here.
I folllowed the guide for using the SDK installer.
The only deal is when I plug my phone into my PC it wont install.
I get an error stating that the driver Linux Novacom is missing.
I am using Windows 7 64bit.
I found this download, Linux nerds rejoice: Linux Novacom*leaked - all things Pre - PreThinking
But have no idea where to put it or what to do with the file.
Any suggestions here.

Thanks All.

If you're using Windows 7 x64, I don't think you want the Linux Novacom. The novacom that came with the SDK should work fine on XP/Vista. I think there are some other forums with instructions for 7 x64. Good luck!

Hmmm...Maybe someone can catch what I am dong wrong here.
I have the phone in charge mode ONLY.
I have the SDK installed, and the .ipk file downloaded.
My phone is in Dev Mode.
I drag and drop the .ipk file onto the palm-install.bat file located in my program file directory.
I see a cmd box pop up for a brief second, and find no app installed on the pre.

Anyone see what I am missing here.
Thanks again.

simple.

you installed the sdk into program files.

You are not running with root privlidges.

program files is a protected directory

so, it fails.

either a) uninstall the sdk and re-install into c:\palmsdk instead of c:\program files\palm or launch a command window as administrator, go to \program files\palm\sdk\bin and type

palm-install \path\to\ipk\ipk_name.ipk

and it will install.

copying the function of a program in a different language on a different architecture is NOT grossly illegal. there -are- look and feel lawsuits, but I can't begin to think that msoft would try to defend the look at feel of ms-paint.

Especially by the time it was translated to a 320x480 screen.

Program Files works perfectly for me and since you typically need Administrator access to install anything he should have all the privaleges he needs.

The one thing I can say that is not happening as it should is that the CMD window should stay open longer than a fraction of a second.

It got a new refresh in Win 7 so I think people will be using it more in the future.

It's an unsigned ipk so use the SDK method to install. I hope to get a chance to play around with signing it so it can be installed using the email method.
This is really awesome. Any way to get it to clear the screen by shaking the phone?

Just so long as I can disable it
it might be worth having to show the phone's abilities to other people. Otherwise, eww.
