It's next on the list. I came up with an idea when I was going to bed the other night; ran it by Matt and he thinks we can implement it too.

I'll run it by you after we get a cheap, semi-working model done and see what you think.

(referring to installing unlimited apps - the new pmp sounds, when I'm done, will show that there are things we can do that appear to need rooting, but don't - with just a little ingenuity)

This is nuts! This app may be ugly (constructive criticism) but it blows FC out of the water. How is it not getting recognition?!?! A little polishing and this would be untouchable!

Praise goes out to true Open Source Devs!! As long as these guys are around... the greedy are kept in check! I would donate thousands before being forced to pay 1 cent!

Just installed Preload. Like most of the things on it. As a developer, I have one problem. In the listing for the apps, there is a donation section. It is for the Preload app. However, the section says "FROM THE DEVELOPER" and has a donate button. This is a terrible location for this, because of the context. It isn't clear this is for the Preload app developer and not the App being listed. Seems like people could want to donate to the App they are about to download and think they are, but donate to Preload instead, because of the confusion.

Depends on the app you are viewing. That is there as a filler in the event the developer did not supply them with their own info/donate. You are not required to donate nor is it trying to trick anyone. Yes the context is probably not the greatest but you can certainly go on their board and suggest this as an idea. They are quite responsive.

You're right - sorry for the confusion - it has been removed.

That was originally intended for developers to post theur own google ads or paypal buttons - we had ours come up if they didn't have one submitted (which very few people hosted with us).

Now we've switched app development to WebOS Group and we'll come up with a new solution for developers to host their ads or paypal donations on the details pages. I'll send you a PM when that's up if you like.

Is it possible to remove a patch via preload if you installed with pre load??

If not then how do i do i go about removing a patch?

is it still necessary to remove a patch (the on screen keyboard) before you update the OS??

Right now, you shouldn't have been able to install a patch with preload, just preware or webos quick.

When we release that - you'll be able to install/delete them using preload.

It's always suggested that you remove patches before updating your OS. (and wait a couple of days to put them back). If something changes in the OS that affects them, you don't want to be the first to know.

I tried installing a ringtone, it said download was complete but I couldn't access the ringtone on my pre or computer through ethernet. Any suggestions?

When you pull up your ringtones in your sound app, hit the plus sign and you'll see it. You can also go to settings and have them go directly to your ingtone folder - right now they go to pmpring folder so you don't go past the 50 limit on the ringtone folder.

i cant get anything to work

tried downloading the on screen keyboard patch but its not working..

any suggestions?

That one requires the ipkg service to be installed and integrated into PreLoad - it will be available in the next release. Right now, there's no way to filter those from the feed.


Sorry to everyone - our site was hacked and I need to focus on getting that working again. I will answer more questions later, or you can ask them in the messageboard on the app.
