I can't wait to see what Tyler is going to be able to do with a 700p in his hand

It is intentional for final versions as well, not just betas. Tyler designed it that way so if there is a conflict you won't get caught in a loop that requires a hard reset.

Hmmm...

you can always warm reset.

Request follows...

Make this an option, similar to YAHM and other similar customizing apps.

thanks for the info!

Great app. Bought it and love it.

Is it possible to make the menu button reprogrammable (moreso than just making it shift)?

I am not trying to beat a dead horse here, but I just want to make sure that what SailRace is describing is the same request I would like:

I go into contacts...look up a person..highlight the number...dial it (using either the center key OR the phone key)...end my call with them...that returns me to the contact I just spoke to, correct?

Now, how do you get back to the "keypad/main view"? The "phone" key doesn't do that. The only way is to hit the "home" key and THEN hit the "phone" key.

With the 650, when you ended the call, it would highlight the contact's name and then you would hit the green phone key to return to the "keypad/main view".

Am I missing the obvious?
Is there a better/easier way?
Is there a God?
Don't you hate when people ask too many questions?

Moose...

that's exactly what i'm talking about. I don't have my 650 home with me this weekend, so i couldn't test the exact sequence of events. But that is exactly how it should work. If the contact name is highlighted, the phone key should take us to the dial pad. If the number is highlighted, it should dial the number. and after a call ends from a contact dial, it should return to the name, so one additional press takes us back to the phone screen.

LOL....my 650 is sitting right here, so I had to test out the key sequences before posting.

Also, don't flame me, but has it already been mentioned that when you are in "phone pad/main menu mode", when you hit th "phone key", it doesn't list call log, dial pad, and last 10 numbers dialed?

Thanks,

rjmoose

Not sure if this has been reported, but ludusp disables the option key...at least on my 700p it does. I was sending a text and I typed a comma and it kept typing an "m" instead of the comma...same thing with typing a question mark...you have to hold down the option key at the same time you press the desired "option key"...sorry if this has already reported. I know that Ludusp is causing it because as soon as I disable it, the "option key" problem goes away...

rjmoose,

You'll also notice that he same thing applies to your shift key. You now need to hold them down to capitalize letters as well.

Hi, To update my post:

OK, I just tried it. On the 650 if you are in contacts and you have a name highlighted and you hit the phone button it will return back to the phone app. On the 700 if you have a name highlighted and you hit the phone button, nothing happens....

I realize that on both phones if you're in contacts and you highlight a number and hit the phone button it will dial...

Question/Issue: Last night I was accidently dialing #'s and I finally figured out why...When in the contacts app with a # highlighted the phone button acts like the center button did on the 650.

I wondered if we can give the all in one phone button the same funtionality as on the 650.

On the 650 I could be anywhere, (including contacts) hit the phone button and I'll go to phone. When I'm at phone, if I hit the phone button again I get a list with call log, dial pad, and my last dialed calls.

On the 700p if I'm in contacts with a # highlighted and I press phone, rather that go back to the phone page it will dial the number, where as on the 650, the center button of the 5 way would dial, and the phone button would take you back to phone.

So that's to get back to 650 functionality.

Then a feature request if possible that I also missed on the 650 was when you do go to call log, rather than highlight the cancel button by default, I'd like it if the first # at the top of the call log was highlighted (Like on the Treo 600 : )

Also, is the latest version going to be here or on your site? When I went to your site last night I think it had 1.13 but then on TC it had 1.5.

Thanks!
-Vincent

FWIW, I don't have the problem with the Option/Shift key that others are describing. I'm still on v1.3 which works great for me. Perhaps it's a bug in v1.5 or related to a feature of LudusP that you've enabled and I haven't?

Yes on the 650 when you are at the phone app, pushing the phone button brings up a list with Call Log, Dial Pad, and then recently dialed numbers.

On the 600 its the center button that takes you the same place. It would be nice to have the choice to use the phone button or center button on 700p.

On the 600 if you select Call Log, it takes you to your call log and highlights the number at the top of the list so you can quickly call back the last person you talked to. On the 650 if you select call log from the list, it then highlights the cancel button.

I would like to see the 600 functionality. When you select Call Log from the list it highlights the last call for quick dial...

Maybe we need to a list for Palm; features we don't want to loose in the next phone

Speaking of features Palm took after the 600 .... I still miss the space being able to toggle speaker phone on and off. Could we have that too?

It is definitely a 1.5 problem. I have actually reverted back to 1.13, and am not using a combined phone send key. My biggest problem with 1.5 was that i could no longer use my menu key.

I didn't remap the menu, because i like where it is, but not being able to access it has proved to be problematic.
