Default GSM Treo says no service

I put my new 3G SIM in a GSM Treo 600 and it says no service. What do you think the trouble could be?

Is the phone to old? Is the SIM to new? Maybe its a GSM Treo that is no good for AT&T?

Don't know why it would not work. I will check later with my nephew, he's got AT&T and I have a Treo 600 that's unlocked.

The 600 would not be capable of 3G.

Even if it is not capable of 3G, does that mean you can't even get phone signal at all?

I have several GPRS phones that work just fine for data and voice with my 3G SIM

Just to confirm, I borrowed my nephew's 3G AT&T SIM card and yes, it does work with the Treo 600 for voice and data.

The data is standard GPRS speed recorded in dslreports mspeed for 33Kbit/sec, 1.572s latency 25.297s d/l time for 100k.
