Permament Screen Protector on the Centro?
Anyone know anything about this. on page 8 of the Centro guide says that it has a built-in screen protector and that you don't need a screen protector.
Does this device have a built in screen protector ?? It states a permament screen protector is already applied?? WHat if that gets scratched.?

Wow, that's something new ... maybe TC can get some clarification on that. Man, that'd be a life saver, but still has me worried about the screen ... I'll more than likely end up with a Seido protector when they come out. I wish I could buy from them locally though, they're just down the street.

Yeah the online guide isnt the same one as the "Getting Started" guide that comes in the box. I just checked it. But if you have the one in the box , go to page 8. Lower page there is a box that says "Did you Know" . The in the box it says the Centro comes with a permament Screen Saver. Im not sure thats true as I look at the screen and I see no screen saver. I put my own on anyways.

Yup...I just checked it out with my buddy and saw the notice that you are talking about. Weird. I could not see one on the device either.

maybe you're interpreting as a physical screen saver and they mean something with the display like a screen saver on a computer.

My guess is that the glass was sprayed with a scratch-resistant coating and that is what they are talking about, but that is purely a guess. It is an interesting statement in the user's guide though.

and how about a crystal case, but preferably the rubberized one. External battery charger would be nice as well.

You can see a mention of it in the " Read This First Poster":
" Palmฎ Centro Smart Device
(There is no need to apply a screen
protector. A permanent screen
protector has already been applied
to your device to protect it from
scratches and dust.)"

Yes any plans for a high capacity battery AND will it fit in the Centro or Will we have to use a new battery door like the 700P had with the 3200 battery. The 2400 didnt need a new door and fit good. I definetly dont want to have the Centro get any bigger.

A permanent screen protector is a great idea. Apparently doesn't distort the display since so many have bragged about how vivid the display is.
I stop using them a long time ago because I could apply them properly.
Good Luck.

until you scratch it. Nothing is 100%. Then you're screwed.
Buy them cheap at Deal Extreme so if you mess up once or twice, you don't care. You wasted less than $2.

Centro Screen protector
It's actually a factory-replaceable screen protector similar to some third-party ones you see on the market now. It is not really noticeable, when using Centro. Applying another screen protector to the Centro would basically be like installing two on the screen.

Do you have any proof? I'd honestly not take a manual's word for it because scratching the screen of a $400 device is teh suck.
