from a post I sent to Palmaddicts:

thought I'd share a tip for getting around town.
Google maps is great - but it does require an internet connection (and expensive data in the UK)

So, I've saved a few maps to my sd card as gifs.

I set Initiate to open gif images with the standard pics & video app
Now when I want the tube map I just open Initiate, type Tub and my tube map opens. I can pan around, zoom and generally find my way!

here are the maps I'm using:

a central london map

Tube 2 London Pro is an awsome program IMO. I also have the London Streets maps.

WOW, just got back from Paris, London. I used this program for everything. Where to go, how to get there, times, I just can't believe how useful it was! I bought a couple programs for my trip that were USELESS. Good thing I found METRO, because without it travel would have been much more stessful. And it's FREE, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

Thanks to you all. I have metro and it is excellent, IMO. Just thought I'd get a visual supplement and you helped with that, too. Thanks again.
