New skins for TAKEphONE 7.00 (and a skin creation kit)
Hi all,
For TAKEphONE 7.00 users - posted 3 skins at www.shsh.com/skins
Also - if you like to try and create your own skins - get a kit at
www.shsh.com/downloads/tp_skinmaker.zip
Thanks.

I can't figure out after I create it where it goes to. I can't find it. I may not be doing it right but I can't find it any where.

The skin.pdb file is suppose to go into the RAM. Then open TakePhone, hit the device Menu button and go to TP Prefs then to Display.
Then on the Display screen, tap the skin dialog on the top of the screen and select your new skin.

Ok, so I must really be doing this all wrong then. Ok, after I download the zip file and unzip it on my computer, do I then sync certain files to my phone? I thought I was suppose to create them on the computer and then sync the files to my phone, cause when I unzip them none of them are palm files they look like computer apps.
Sorry for being so stupid but I am really new to this stuff.

I'm talking about the place you put the skin. I guess are messing with the skin creator program. That goes on your desktop.

Yeah, I am using the skin creator. I put it on the desk top and am using it from there. I just can't figure out once I create the skin where it goes to on my computer.

Ok, I found the skin I created but I was trying to make a hot pink skin and everything came out as I wanted it except the phone buttons and the CLR OK and small navigational buttons at the bottom. I noticed that there are pink CLR OK and navigational buttons already loaded in the images folder of the program but I can't seem to figure out how to place them on my skin. Also, I can't figure out how to make my number keys pink.

Does anyone know if it's possible to create transparent buttons like the TP 7.5 default skin using this?

No-, but if you ommit the button bitmaps from a skin, TAKEphONE will draw it's built-in transparent ones.

I had tried that, but the script didn't build a skin .prc file. I just now realized that what I forgot to do was edit the .RCP file to not try to pickup the button BMP's.
I was looking to create a skin that just used different fonts on the bottom button bar and use the default transparent buttons elsewhere.
Thanks for the help!

Very cool. I like the idea of using the simple white fonts at the bottom. They look really good in the Charcoal one.

Feel free to share them
(you might want to wait on the Vista one, however, as I'm not completely satisfied with that one yet. May want to tweak it a bit first :-) )

mcentreville,
Can you make the "OK", "CLR", "*And", and "#" the same color as the skin? Tanks.

GunmetalBlue, ForestGreen, Burgundy, and Crimson. If you don't have time to convert all of them, then I'll take the GunmetalBlue. It would be even great if you could change the icon of the "OK" and "CLR" buttons.....but I think that might be asking too much

I'll try coming up with something different for the "OK" and "CLR" icons. I won't have much time at my computer today, so it may be a day or so before you'll see anything.
I guess the reason I made the other keys dark grey/black, was to make the number keys stand out. Would you prefer all of them the same color, or, in the same color family (i.e. the non-numeric keys might be a darker -- or lighter -- shade of the same color)?
