Default Treo 600 Specific Utilities/Tools/Fixes by TC Members

The list has been transferred to: http://mytreo.net/mytreo/modules.php...download&cid=3 and now includes descriptions. Much improved! Please post any new utilities at the the MyTreo Forum's version of this thread: http://mytreo.net/forum/YaBB.cgi?boa...num=1084196654.

Thanks, E9

Weren't you supposed to provide a link for people that want to try your Treo specific utility?

Not limited just to the T600, but critical nonetheless (and it's free, unlike a more limited tool listed above):

Good catch. Is there 5-Way support yet?

I'm curious. What do you need 5-Way support for? This is not an app you spend a lot of time using...it is more of a "set it and forget it" type app. Seems everyone wants 5-Way support in every app just because they have a 600. Just trying to understand why this would be worth the developer's (potatoho) time and effort?

Not trying to be confrontational, just genuinely curious.

Wow, that would be a lot of work. Most of the links go to threads or web pages that explain the tool, utility or fix.

If TC were to pick this up (and they should IMO), then they can add descriptions.

Unless you'd like to do that for me, and then I will edit my leader post and include them.

No, but as Joe suggests, it's not that big a deal. Once I set it up, and played with the settings a few times, I just don't touch it any more.

These are not by TC members with the single-minded purpose of addressing shortcomings of the Treo 600.

I started the thread because I wanted to point out how a common purpose has brought TC members together in a synergistic way. What individuals here have done to improve, enhance and fix a single device is rather amazing to me.

All utlities I've listed was devloped by specifically to address shortcomings of Treo. Most ideas for them came from Treo Cental formus: user request and complaints about lacking features. As one of founders of Hexlet I am long time TC member. My partners are also all TC members.

Got it. And the Address Book Icon, too, from the same thread. Updated the list.

There's also PalmPrices!! It's sorta like a pricegrabber app for the Treo! There's been a couple threads on this already...

what exactly is the "alerts.prc" supposed to do? I think it disables the built in alerts now...

Good question. It's a small utility that allows the Treo 600 to access the built-in alerts dialog without having to tap that flashing asterisk in the upper left of the display; a task that is otherwise not possible for many to do without a stylus. Alerts is enabled by choosing a button press in Prefs>buttons.
