80% of the birthdays I had in Outlook didn't show up in the Treo's default calendar app.

I do not use Datebook5.

Default Birthday Calendar not Synchronizing

This is what PalmOne says about the problem:
-------
Solution ID: 25922

Birthday Calendar events not synchronizing

Why don't birthdays I've created in Outlook or Palm Desktop appear on my Palm™ handheld?

The new Contacts application included with Tungsten™ T3 and Tungsten™ E includes a birthday field. When a birthday is attached to a Contact, an untimed, repeating event is created in the Calendar application. This event is titled, "firstname's Birthday." Any existing untimed events that end in "[name]'s birthday" will not be synchronized to the PC. To avoid conflicts/duplicates the conduit ignores untimed events that end in: "'s Birthday"

Solutions to this issue include:

Use the birthday field in the Contacts application to track birthdays.
Rename existing untimed events so they do not end with " 's Birthday"
Tip: Try adding a space between "'s" and Birthday or removing the "'s"

------
Hmmm. Other events such as Anniversaries would have the same problem

Thank you,
Agreed, I moved it to general software and made it sticky there.
In the treo650 forum there are too many sticky's allready, and this is not 650 specific (it applies to all PDA's with the latest palm OS version)

Do files get embarrassed when they get unzipped?

Does this only affect PalmOS released with the 650 and later? I have a 600 and don't have this problem with syncing birthdays with apostrophe's.

Is the "Birthday" field something new with the PalmOS version for the 650? What I've always done in the past is update my settings around syncing Contacts (custom.txt I think in the Chapura Contacts settings) and chose to custom sync the "Birthday" field and then renamed one of my custom fields on the device to "Birthday". Is "Birthday" now a standard field with the 650? If so, that would be cool once I upgrade b/c I already utilize the Birthday field in Outlook.

I am having a problem with events that are All day. If i have them listed a certian way in outlook i cannot get them to sync properly with agendus. I am using the new version of chapurpa(xt). It puts them in some funky order. They do show up but not in the order listed in Outlook. Um, Could this bug cause this. I have tried and tried to get them to sync properly. Do you think this is the cause

How about this one:

A quick and easy way to prefix *67 to any phone call you make with a single tap of a button. This would be useful especially when you're calling an unknown caller back from the call log.

Of course, this function must be usable in both CONTACTS and CALL LOG.

(I also posted this here Attn developers: Auto-*67 dialer utility )

I think I have a different/related issue. My Birthday reminders are created automatically (as far as I can tell) from Outlook based on dates in the Birhday field. They show up in Outlook at Repeating Untimed Events with the format firstname lastname's Birthday. They seem to all be synching to my Treo, which means on the Treo I have the built in Birthay record and the Outlook record.

Is there any way to filter them out on the Treo so that I don't see both?

Yikes! I use PocketMirror to sync the calendar, due to other problems with the PalmOne calendar conduit. I guess I'm glad I do!

I have just discovered that I have the same problem. One would think that this had been corrected 5 months later. Oh well.

Do any of you have more reent info?

Do any of you know whether using Intellisync rather than Palm's HotSync solves this problem? Thanks.

Default Outlook 2003 Birthday in Contact not Synched to Treo 650 Birthday field in Contacts

Is there something that needs to be done with the Verizon Treo 650 to get the birthdates entered in Outlook 2003's contacts to sync and show up on the Treo 650 in the birthday filed in contacts?

I have some problems with close friends and family, but it has nothing to do with Outlook!

That is a way Bill Gates "persuades" everyone to use PPC instead of Palm.

on TV ads "You want desktop windows, office etc. support?? Choose PPC, NOT Palm."

Thats exactly what I have a good mind to do as well. I've been thinking long and hard about this. I'm still trying to be loyal, but my frustration is wearing thin. PPC is starting to look better and better.

ditto! I've been dreading buying all this sw to make the PALM T650 more user friendly...just picked back up the research today after calendar sync frustrations - not properly handeling entries, dupes, etc., Current Treonauts basket:
KeySuite for Outlook Synchronization Download $69.95
VolumeCare Pro Download $19.95
Pocket Tunes Deluxe Download $37.95
Butler Download $14.95
Subtotal: $142.80
All on you'lls "Best, Gotta Have Apps Lists" This is RI-DIC-U-LOUS! I wanted to try P over W for better phone stability but I didn't know this comes w/the P territory. At least w/the W any sw purchased is just that - Extra. In fact, I didn't have to buy any SW. All I needed was freeware games. I don't know, I'm on the fence - perhaps I'll hold out a little while longer for VZW to get an updated W Treo. my 2 cents of venting.

I was having several synch problem in addition to the Birthday's glitch. Pocket Mirror solved my problems. It was just one more program to need to buy to make the Treo act like it should ... !
