Question New Opera Mini Browser for mobile platforms

Is there anyone in here from Norway?

Appearently Opera has introduced a new java based browser called Opera Mini.
It is currently available only to those in Norway. It runs on several platforms. Not sure about Palm. Since it's java based, it is supposed to be much faster. Also from what I understand, their may not be a d/l size limitation like we have now in Blazer.

http://www.opera.com/products/mobile/operamini/

Just curious if anyone has been able to try it yet.

It isn't Palm compatible at this point. In theory, if somebody did the leg work, you could use the Java versions of it, but that is sort of a kludge.

I haven't gotten that message...

have you figured out a stylus-free way to access the menu?

Overall a great feel as a browser. Very fast. Pages render well. Images look nice. Page Up/Down overlap a line of text for easy reading.

However, it is still a little buggy. First time using it the Treo reset after almost every key stroke. After reset, I experienced the one click on the d-pad was equal to two clicks on the page. That was kind of wierd.

Haven't found a way to reset the home page yet.

Copy/Paste/Text select does not appear to be an option

Text box limited in characters

Which is why I had to do two posts.

Google defaults to Google.de. Workaround is go to Google.com/pda and click on full google. It will bring you to the English full version.

I can't seem to get it to keep me signed in when I exit the program. Maybe because of the Java/proxy?

This is just what I've noticed so far. Overall, though, I love it. It is sooo much faster.
