MobiTV Treo 650 Beta started today.
Hi all,
I just wanted to share with you all that I have been selected as a beta tester for the Treo 650 MobiTV. I can't share it with you guys, but I'll put some comments, pictures or videos about it. I'll keep you posted.

Just got it and installed it. The sound on the channels comes up instantly but no pictures are coming up! has anyone noticed this? Maybe you have to wait for five minutes for the frames?
edit: it seems no matter how long I wait, no pictures. Sound does not skip at all though

I am also very interested in getting the demo. I had MobiTV on my old phone and was missing it on the Treo.

I got it and it works great on my Sprint Treo 650. From what I understand it was sent to a limited number for Beta testing.

I have it installed and it works fine, the sound quality is just OK and the res isn't really bad either (loks fine when little movement). Basically its the same as it was on my old sprint phone, with some better channels (ESPN) and larger screen obviously. The interface/skin loks pretty good too. When I go home I want to see if it is real-time, if it shows SPORTSCENTER live then this prgram is def worth it for me.

I got it in an email but it won't let me install it on my Treo650. I get an Outlook error that says "the operation failed".
Does Outlook not play nice with the Palm desktop?

They say you can't give it out, and since they are being cool and letting me beta it for free, I'm not gonna break any of thier rules.
I have Cingular and it runs very well, pictures and sound.

As this is a pay-for service, the beta should be shareable without being unethical- right? Just a thought from those on the list but didn't get the beta....

It came as an attachment to my beta email.
Looks great. Sound only thru headphones. Anyone get it working w/the Treo speaker?
And of course, since it is a continuous stream of data, all calls go to voicemail while using it.

Worked with my speaker with no configuration. Also supported the left side volume control.

I just received it, too, via special email. I had signed up for the beta test. Installed it and watching MSNBC, CNBC, Weather Channel. Install/hotsync went smoothly. I do get some pause/buffering once in a while... but otherwise good.

Just called Idetic/MobiTV, talked with CS. Let them know I was a previous customer, signed up for beta, didn't get it, etc- they are emailing it to me.
Give them a call, they didn't give me any problems about it. Their number is on the 'company' section of their website.

How come noone will post the attachment here for others to use? Seems pretty unsportman like. Is there some disclaimer in the e-mail that tells you guys NOT to share the program? Is the file too large? What gives guys?

Just received mines today also!! I just watched ESPN and MSNBC News and the framerate is actually better than I thought. The picture quality is not so bad either. The audio is nice and loud. Overall, this is sweeet!! I'll play with it somemore.

Man, I haven't seen a thread explode like this one has. There is obviously a very high interest in this product. Mobitv needs to have a developer sub-forum here. I bet that product would be running smoooth in like a week!

Treo 650 on Sprint PCS.
I get audio and video immediately after the 'receiving signal' progress bar reaches 100%. The quality isnt amazing, but the novelty of the technology makes up for some of the lacking frame rate.
What I didnt see in the invitation email was a way to interact with MobiTV about bugs, feature suggestions, and other feedback aside from responding to the email itself.

I kinda agree with you there...they didn't seem to mind sending it out when I called, not sure why it would be a big deal to distribute. It's a pay service...they can't get customers if they don't distribute the client.
Hopefully it doesn't take them too long to email it out. Have you tried calling them? 510.981.1303

I went out the building too, but just because I don't want my coworkers to think that I'm slacking too much. It is freaking coooool....! Seriuosly... I haven't seen anything cooler than this after I installed Chatter and TomTom 5 on my Treo. We bluetooth on it reset a couple of times though. The quality of the video is amazing for streaming. I have to think about paying for this.

Wow, pretty cool. The audio is pretty loud, but the video quality isn't all that great. But overall, a nice time killing app

It should work for two weeks according to the email.
It looks great to me, except I don't get any sound. I'm going to try and reboot and see if that fixes the problem. Also, after about a minute, a dialog box pops up and stops the video. Anyone else get this? I think it's a demo limitation.
Very slick interface for this app!!! I can't wait for the full version!

Not that it was needed. :-)

OK, just got my beta email from MobiTV. It's a forward, and their is no attachment.
You have to admit, it was pretty fast though. Going to reply and see if they resend it.
Email had a similar sounding disclaimer to what you guys posted....~~2 weeks, do not distribute, etc.
