Default 700P synch excruciatingly slow

I'm synching my 700P with Entourage on my iMac via USB. (All other conduits are set to default Do Nothing.)

Everything was fine until lately when the synch became excruciatingly slow. Whereas it used to synch in less than 30 seconds, synchs now can take 10 minutes. The difficulty seems to be in synching the Tasks/To-Do list. I have the Entourage conduit set to synch only active to-dos and typically I don't have over fifty total to-dos with maybe ten or fifteen changes per day. So it isn't a huge to-do list that's bogging things down. Any ideas as to how to get the speedy synch back?
