Necessary stuff! I drive alot. Gotta have the fuzz buster, and the other cell phone holder is for my other phone (instinct) because I use it for navigation most of the time.

Can I ask a dumb question? Why use the Instinct when you could just use the Pre? It's the same software getting information from same services, only the Pre acquires a GPS signal much faster (according to a race between me and my wife, who has an Instinct). Is there something better about the Instinct nav?

I don't know about your pre, but when I use the nav on mine, the speaker sounds like someone talking through a sock. I just figured the speaker sucks? Maybe it's defective who knows, but I can hardly hear it let alone understand what is coming out of it. The instinct is much louder and doesn't sound like someone is talking thru a sock. Not to mention, my pre is my business phone and I would rather it not be transmitting data and having calls going to vmail. Thus I use the instinct and just leave it in the truck and use it for navigation.

Nice radar detector...best investment of my life. Well...the two best investments of my life haha. I rock an Escort Passport 8500 and a Valentine 1 just for double protection, the 8500 is much better IMO. If I mount a TS to my car it will likely be in a cupholder. I really liked the BMW install that went around for a while. Anyone tried that?

Voice always has priority over data on EVDO, so you shouldn't have that going to VM problem.

I can confirm this. Was using the navigation to meet up with a few friends on the other side of town when one of them called me. Music and navigation died down and i was able take the call fine. Everything restarted after i ended my call.

Touchstone Mounted on BMW 530i 2003 looks and runs great so far
I mounted my Touchstone on my 2003 bmw 530i, using the sprint car charger shaved down tofit the back of the touchstone, the first 3 pictures with the palm pre in view were taken by my wifes bb curve and the 3 pictures with no pre in them was taken by the palm pre. you can easily see the picture quality.
Next project is to install the JVC-KD-AVX77
single din 5.4" lcd with bluetooth stereo capality to pair with palm pre and listen to Pandora and my 5GB of music stored on pre thru my car stereo.

i havent got a touch stone yet.. but mine is going on the dash in the center right on top. with the ts facing the right way. i am excited about it. i am installing a new socket underneath the steering column to the left my by fuse box facing down and i will have the wire running from there and up to the dash right in the touch stone wont even be viewable. this way the phone is in sight for navi or videos or whatever when traveling also for maneuvering music and such. viewable both for me an passenger. only question do i need to worry about head when its on my dash? will it hurt the phone or the touch stone since it will always be there?... sadly enough its a black i35... my windows are super dark so not bad but the windshield is not... black dash as well.. ehhh kinda concerned any input?

I'm in the process now of installing my Touchstone in my 2002 Cougar. My issue is the fact that I literally have zero flat/smooth surfaces around my center console and dash. I'll post pics as soon as I wrap it up.

You dont need a flat surface actually.. a 45deg angle is better... it keeps the phone at the right angle, and you wont need to but the stone upside down...
BTW a smooth surface really isn't need also, depending if u use the right mounting solution... industrial Velcro, strong 3M double-sided tape, etc...

The touchstone is fine. My Pre is plenty hot though. I felt guilty putting it back on the TS after the car had been in the sun for 3 hours @ 95 degrees. When I took it off, it was plenty hot. Not sure I'll repeat that often.
Mine is next to the vent, so it's a clear shot for the sun from the windshield. Still, that's the most visible position.

Nick, is the Moto working without the dancing on/off charging? I have an "extra" charger is you like. Actually, I have an "extra" sprint one I had ordered when I got frustrated and bought the Palm.
Nice setup. Any issues looking down while driving?

bkemp, I'm having about the same results with TS in car. My commute is much longer and I usually start with a 70%+ charge leaving home/office. I'm at 100% as long as I don't use Nav. If I use Nav, I'm pretty much where I started +5%.
