Default Does it hurt my Pre to constantly be on the Touchstone?

Ok so I have two touchstones, one at home and one at work. So I'm wondering will it cause any problems that my Pre is on the Touchstone from like 10PM at night all the way through 4pm the next day. I get up in the morning come to work and put it on the touchstone again. The reason I'm asking is becasue the screen is always on when its on touchstone.

It is nothing to worry about. You are using the Pre as Palm intended.

Well I'm just making sure, cause I don't see how it can be good for the screen to always be on.

In the Sprint store by me, they have two Pre's on display, and both are on the touchstone charger. I wouldn't think it would hurt them.

Well, it is worse for it then being off. But in the end nothing gets out of life alive. The screen will die eventually, but not within the 1-3 years that you will be using the phone.

and if it did hurt it, they should replace it.

the screen should turn off after a couple of minutes. its just freaky to stay on all the time.

at least make it an option.

The only damage would be to the battery. The hardware should see negligible wear due to just that.

Interesting thought though. I really wouldn't need the screen on all the time...

Does it scratch the Pre when you put it on & off the stone?

I can't leave my phone on the touchstone more than a couple hours because it gets too hot. I put it on and take it off during the day which keeps the charge I need. Afraid to leave it on all night as it just get too hot.

The back you have to use for the Stone is much more textured and shows no sign of marks from the removal and placement on the stone.

I have a Skin-It on the back of mine as well and it shows no sign of Wear at all . Mine is on the TouchStone most of the day and night unless I out. I'm also looking to pick up another for my Work van.

I agree the Clock and Lock button that shows when docked should have no effect over time at all.

I still need the Center button to flash for notification when in silent mode but that's another story lol.

RsMom once it gets fully charged it shuts down the charge and doesn't stay hot. I was worried about that as well but leave it on for 8 to 10 hours with no problem.

So the Pre screen *can't* be turned off while on the Touchstone? (I'm still waiting for mine to arrive.) That's unfortunate, and I hope the option gets added. I will charge mine overnight in my bedroom and would rather not have a mandatory night light.
