Default Thinking of getting a Pre.

I currently have a Blackberry 8900 it's nice but feels a little last gen thanks to the os. So I was thinking of getting an iPhone 3GS or Palm Pre and was hoping you guys could help me figure out the benefits of the Palm Pre to the compitition and how is sprint for you? Is it truly worth it or should I wait it out?

Definately worth it. Palm is about to explode with more apps in the catalog, and the homebrrew section here has over 100 apps already. The speed, multitasking and just plain capabilities are off the chart with this open OS.

Get the phone from BestBuy though, they seem to have a better exchange rate and policy from what I have seen. Then buy an invisible sheild by Zagg and install it yourself.

Hope this helps, and YES Plam Pre kicks IPhone 3G/3GS butt in just about everything except phone bootup time.

I concur with the above as I had an iPhone 3G.

PLUS you can send MMS messages whereas with the iPhone you can't unless you jailbreak the phone which voids your warranty. Also, with Sprint, you can get the Everything Data plan for $70/month. The comprable iPhone plan through ATT will cost you about $100/month.

So let's see...get the iPhone with less features and pay more with ATT or get the Pre with more features and pay less...hmm...

Ditto to all above...I had the 3G and it was ok for an iPhone (which doesn't say much) but the physical 'qwerty' keyboard plus multitasking ability plus the wonderful camera (w/flash!) plus the overall capability of the phone definitely outweighs the iPhone. Who cares if the phone boots up faster, hah! My only advice would be to HURRY UP AND BUY THE PRE!!! I don't think that the video capabilities of the 3Gs are enough of an advantage (just about the only thing the iPhone has over the Pre) since there are reports of the Pre hacked into a video recorder...in time it will come. Good luck with your decision and I hope you make the right one!!!

I just switched from the BB Storm to the Pre. It is by far the best decision I've ever made. Just the multitasking alone is worth it. I am saving $40/month now that I switched from Verizon. Think about it

Hope to welcome you here. After using the Pre, I honestly have trouble with an iPhone's OS.. No multi-tasking, no card switching, no gesture area(!).
