Default Palm Pre Screen Replacement...

Ok So my screen is broken, so my question is... If the only problem is my broken screen and i take the phone apart and do everything correctly and replace the screen, will i still have the same memory on it and be able to get my pictures off? or does the phone need to be flashed with the new screen to make it work? because i dont feel like spending the money on a new screen if i wont be able to get pictures off anyways...

what??? if you get the screen replaced then you just have a new screen is all . has nothing to do with the pictures. the pictures are stored in the pre in the memory card

Ha....flashed with a new screen? I wish I could fix everything like that.

You can't replace your screen buddy. Especially if you think it's some kind of flash update. It's not user replaceable, hell it's not technician replaceable. Did you get TEP? If so head tho the Sprint store and get a new one. If not then head there anyway and see what they can do for you.

so was wondering if the phone would work as if nothing was broken or if something special had to be done for it to work...

then how do people tear down their phone and put it back together and it still works? why not just put a different screen and digitizer on when putting back together?

Yes, but my response was to the poster that said screen replacement could not be done...and the OP did not say whether he has TEP or not.

I think PDAsmart has made a small fortune fortune off the iPhone.

yes i have TEP but the phone is not what i care about, its the pictures, if i send the phone in to Sprint or Palm to have screen fixed they'll flash the phone (procedure i guess) and whipe everything off it... so i'd rather buy a screen to get my touch screen working again and get the pictures off myself, i dont care about a new phone... just wondering if what i want to do is possible...
