Gmail issue

hey guys, I searched and could not find a similar thread, so if this is a repeat, I am sorry.

Just recently, I can not see my mail. When I go into the mail, I see that there are messages there, but the "Press to refresh" message is the only thing there. I have messages in Gmail... I have reset my phone, I have removed and readded the account, I have completely returned the phone to factory condition. This tells me that I am being an idiot and there is a setting that I am missing. Can someone help me out a bit? BTW... no patches and no homebrew apps on it right now since I just reset it last night.

have you tried sending an email? what happens?

just sent a message from my pre, to another email address not associated with the pre and it sent fine. Arrived fine.

ok, I added a second account to the pre (another gmail account) and it worked fine... then I sent a message from that secondary account over to my primary account and POOF, all my messages for the primary account are there... VERY WEIRD.
