You should peruse the beta forum at iambic - likely to find insight into your resets. If not, you should post the steps you take, i.e. details that cause a reset so the developers can get it fixed.

You might want to run dbscan on your PIM databases first to eliminate the possibility of corrupt DBs contributing to the issue.

Hi mszatny,
There were a lot of preference changes added in version 12 that could conflicting with your current settings from 11.1. Can you please try uninstalling, soft reset, then reinstall?

Let us know if this helps. In our beta tests, version 12 proved to be more stable, not less than version 11.1.

Beta testers had to reset the Agendus prefs in this fashion, I hope the 11.1->12 upgrade isn't the same!

Yes in beta you had to reset the preferences in Agendus to fix some of the problems, and it seems to be the same for the final release.

Other problems
- memos of any decent size are VERY slow to draw (I reported during beta)
- Underline effect doesn't work (I reported during beta)
- If you purge old tasks non show in today view though this can be fixed in a strange way
- photo drawing (jpeg display quality) is as bad as previous versions I.E. select a large contact pic and see how badly it is previewed, or view full screen after added to the contact. (I reported before beta)
- I am gettig soft resets with the final release that I never got with the beta.
"Line 2679, Chunk over-locked"
- If you want to clear a photo for a contact go into the photo selection screen and click 'NONE'. It doesn't clear the photo, you end up with a corrupted photo that won't clear (I reported during beta)

Its funny the OP says speed issues resolved as it seems worse to me (as reported in beta) esp for memos. We won't even talk about how slow Agendus mail is compared to snapper (just opening a text based email)..

This release certainly improves the launch speed. It went from 30 seconds to 2 on my wife's MR'ed 700p. Also reported here.

ahh on my t650 I never had a slow launch.. Now I just have slow memos..

Though shouldn't your fix have been a free fix for version 11 users? sounds like it was a serious bug, not a new feature..

I love Agendus the product, but Iambic the company virtually never issues bug fixes for free (unless you get lucky with a CS rep). They call them new releases that require paid upgrades....

The lag on the 700p would be attributed to the device as it didn't lag on the 650. So they had to modify their program to accommodate a POS/HW change. Hence, it is not a bug in their product. That's how I would anticipate their stance on this....

I installed v12 right over v11.1 with no problems. I guess the success of that depends on many variables: 3rd party apps, DAs, PIM database corruption (which can be there and work fine in the native PIM apps but drive Agendus/DateBk crazy. The native PIMs are oblivious to the tags that Agendus/DateBk use). Having worked in tech support for iambic, 9 out of 10 times the issue is the customer's corrupt database or other environment variables, which is why there is such a diverse experience with Agendus.

Bugs are fixed based on reproducibility and magnitude of impact (many experiencing same thing). iambic applies their developer resources in that manner and eventually you get down to a handful of bugs that cannot be reproduced due to the above stated environment variables and neither iambic nor any other company is going to be able to make their product bug free working with limitless combinations of 100K Palm applications. I have many times had to choose between two products that do not play well together and eliminate one to keep a healthy environment on my device.

The bugs I reported were reproduced by the Iambic representative who replied to my bug reports in the Beta forum. But still made it through to the final release? ohh well..

joele,

Then I'm sure they are in the queue and have been assigned to a developer to fix. Many factors go into the decision of when to move from beta to production. As evidenced by many complaints in this and other forums, iambic will never please everyone. That's not to say in the least that they don't care about their customers. I, having worked for them, believe that they genuinely do.

It's just that running a successful business in the Palm OS Software Application environment involves multi-facited decisions of when and what to do. I'm thankful that iambic has been able to remain viable in a market where I have seen companies of products I've really liked go belly up, or are close to it. Only one or two people at the core of the business has all the information and knowledge to make proper and timely calls, and yet they are constantly criticized no matter when and what they do. I'm sure those individuals realize that this comes with the territory, as they say!

I have had no problems with version 12 so far. On a Sprint 700P with the MR applied.

If you got through the MR fiasco unscathed, which it appears you did, then you are probably running a very clean system on your Treo. That would account for you having little or no difficulties with Agendus as well. Glad to here it!

Why would Iambic charges for fixing errors in V11.1? Is this worth $10 for upgrade from 11.1 to 12?

Not really..
The only major enhancement I have noticed is actually a pain. The dial by photo option... I can't seem to get it to 'normal' display. Normal being, just plain list the names as it used to. It seem to be stuck in picture only mode. Doesn't do much good if you didn't take picture of all your contact folks and or businesses..

I still am bothered by the upgrade(Bug fix) charge. I agree with others, they should first fix the bugs, then release enhancements at a charge if they wanted to screw customers.

Iambic still has major quality issues. That's the bottom line. If you can live with the bugs without the expectation of them being fixed EVER (even after a paid upgrade!) then Agendus is your app. I live dangerously so I paid the upgrade fee. Be clear that there is really no solid QA testing of this app. I'm finding lots of little bugs all the time, it was NOT tested properly and Iambic should be ashamed of themselves really (this app is expensive for a PDA app). If you find their representatives online they try and deny there are bugs (Bugs? What bugs? I don't see any bugs?). Rationalizations do not a good PR policy make. Known bugs should be fixed period, end of story. They don't spend the time and money to a) find bugs and b) fix them when they do. They rely on the user base for their QA but we shouldn't be the ones to do this for them. They should try hard to shield us from bugs and errors. We pay way more for the app this way if you consider our time to be money.

However, I digress. New features I like:
* a little speed improvement
* Stock quotes on the Today screen
* Projects (pretty basic though, no way to set to a key)
* Journal view (but no way to set it to a key)
* Alarm Clock (again, no way to map this to a key if you want to)

Wow. I saw the "dbscan" program mentioned earlier in this thread. Gee, I wonder who makes this free program?
