Since 1) all the pictures show a square screen and 2) the Sprint Centro is 320x320, I think that's likely.

Andrew on Treonauts has a post up too, and describes the specs (apart from the GSM radio vs. CDMA for Sprint) as being more or less identical to the Sprint one.

In the brochure, it mentions the screen resolution is 320x320.

compare phones on palm site :
680 : 320 x 320 color 2.4" diagonal
CENTRO : 320 x 320 color 2.2" diagonal

it's like a PC bro, resolution has nothing to do with screen size plus look at the stolen pics comparing the 2, the centro screen is smaller

Too bad this isn't like a sale price misprint that a store is obligated to honor...

Don't hold your breath when even the 500 hasn't been released here yet! I'm coming round to the view that a 680 is the better upgrade path.....

Me and my big mouth - the 500 is out in Aus now...

absolutely a misprint. absolutely my fault. Every freaking windows mobile device on the plant is 320x240, practically, so I guess as my fingers feel "320" they just finish it with "x240".

Fixed the story, thanks!

Unfortunately, Palm being Palm, you won't have any idea when the 800 will be released until a week or so before it is launched and will have to rely on rumours....

Not only is it hard to know when the 800 will be out--there's also the carrier question. From the looks of the rumors out there, the 800 will be CDMA (Sprint/Verizon) and the 850 will be GSM, replacing the 750, and won't come out until later in the year. Makes sense, since the numbers line up nicely.

Or there could be a major curve ball that'll change everything. We won't know till... we know.

I just went to Palm UK website and found that Palm offers all three colors. I believe we should be able to buy the unlocked GSM Centro is US within a few days (from paralell importers and ebay) .
