sms emoticon easter-egg
I discoverd that even though the straight-face smiley is not in the pop-up list, (colon bar) :|
it shows a face when it comes through.
Any other hidden smiley's out there?

I think the :-! or :! is a "smoking smile". Looks like a cigarette and a couple puffs of smoke to me.
I looked and couldn't find any other hidden ones besides the ying-yang :% and straightface :|
Though I did notice that on most of the smilies the '-', nose, is optional.

Canonical List of smilies/emoticons
On my Sprint/CDMA phone here's what I've seen:
Code:
.---------------------------------------------------.
| Emoticon | built-in | short-hand or optional |
|---------------+----------+------------------------|
| happy | :-) | :) |
| wink | ;-) | ;) |
| sad | :-( | :( |
| big grin | :-D | :D |
| | | |
| small tongue | :-p | :p |
| devilish | >:-) | >:) |
| shock | :-O | :O |
| love struck | :-x | :x :-X :X |
| | | |
| crying | :-(( | |
| confused | :-/ | |
| sick | :-& | :& |
| laughing | :-)) | :)) |
| | | |
| blushing | :-"> | :"> |
| smug | :-> | :> ;-> |
| clown | :o) | |
| angel | 0:-) | 0:) |
| | | |
| smoking | | :-! :! |
| straight face | | :-| :| |
| big tongue | | :-P :P |
| yin yang | | :% |
`---------------------------------------------------'
The last four there are "hidden" emoticons, i.e. they are not present in the Emoticon pop-up menu.

P.S. I just checked this post on mobile and the supposed mono-spacing doesn't work there. Sorry about that ugly formatting, it looks fine in netscape!

The smiley breakdances while the SMS app vibrates and plays the theme song from "Beat Street".
