OK I seem to have it working OK.

I found this custom ROM:

http://www.webdogg.net/id2.html

Thank you web dogg!

I must of done something wrong with my first ROM and started with a bad directory.

Jamesg, thanks for trying to help me out.

I have had this. Do you have the latest build? Your not in trouble. Your ROM image is too big.

Are you selecting dir? Have you extracted the zip or are you trying to load the zip?

I have extracted the zip.

I uploaded the zip and it gave me the "holdup", so i tried extracting it and using the directory option.

Close the app then open it again and try the zip.

Extract it to a folder. Copy the acepalm zip file to that folder. There is a txt file with instructions. Follow that. It will get the rom on the phone.

My earlier problems were caused by trying to load ereader pro. It doesn't work and causes reset loop.

i think that this is probably correct ,... i use eReader pro a lot .... but have had major problems getting it into ROM .... first time it just didn't show up on the applications list ... second time it bricked my treo ....

fortunately with the help of TEM and Shadowmite and others on this forum i was able to (eventually) use shadowmites rom restore tool to get it working ok ... not a fun experience tho' ... but a special thanks to all those that helped get my treo back up and running ...

yet others report that they have successfully placed it in rom .... whish i could ... cause i relly use it a lot ...

wish i knew why it didn't work for me ..
