It seems to be having an issue with Chatter during the update process. It is trying to "back-up" things and can't?? Anyone else have Chatter on their phone that has gotten the update to work??

For those installing via HotSync - did you remove your SD card before the install? That was a requirement of a 650 MR if I remember correctly.

I'm installing via the SD card option. So far so good. I am at the "updating Treo - Backing up items" stage.

Wow, SDHC cards supported? That is nice! No need to copy down that file from the 680 anymore in case of needing to backup from a card!!! Yipppeee!
Now, wonder if that file should be deleted prior to updating the rom...course, I am Verizion so it doens't matter to me yet. :-(

It is the same type we used with the 680's. Just ventura instead of low.

LA traffic is annoying in itself but when it prolongs access to something you've been waiting a year for! Ugh!
And no I don't need a life. I have that. What I need is a working and stable Treo!

I stop the update because, per the warning, the files not backed up during the "update" will not be restored.
I use Chatter alot and need to see if I have the original files to reload the program and to copy my mail account setups.

Look at the bright side; any major problems will have been discovered by the time you can update.

Will this kill the custom phone application (call logging on and call duration popup removed), and the launcher popup hack from the 755p ROM?

Confused here....earlier post on pg 1 said apps are NOT wiped out, meaning there should not be a need to reinstall one by one.
Which is the case? I just want to be prepared with PRCs for necessary apps if it does a complete wipe (like most ROM update's I've been familliar with).

I was just thinking...how many bricks does it take to build a wall? Seriously though, all is progressing smoothly. Just a little humor.

Odd...
That message I got...nothing happened after that, so I hit the 'Home' key. I was back at my ZLauncher screen. I scrolled around and noticed a new icon called 'CDMA'. I clicked it and now the Treo Updater app is running, on the 'Backing up items...' phase.

Updating the 700p from my Mac.
I'm running the update from my SD card (as per instructions for Mac users). Hope it makes this blasted device work better!

quote I'm referring to....is this the case, or do apps need to be reloaded?

It is actually different. It does not have a *-palmos.zip it is a .rom file. This won't work the same as the 680, sorry I spoke to soon.
