A2DP Now Working on Sprint 700wx!!!
Notice: Palm has come out with a ROM update that provides A2DP now. Here is the link to the updater.
http://www.palm.com/us/support/downl...er/sprint.html
Glorious skip free music over your stereo bluetooth headphones is now possible on your Sprint 700wx!
I've also verified it works great on a treo 700w! Note though that there is now a better option for 700w users. See this post for details.

New ONE STEP install. Download and read the README.txt included in the zip file for instructions.
Now hosted on a high speed server. Thanks pimpin-tl

http://rapidshare.com/files/18950136..._a2dp.zip.html
I'll leave the old zip in this post in case someone can't access rapidshare.
Old procedure follows:
Download the vzw700wx_a2dp.zip, extract the files and copy to a temp folder on your 700wx or 700w (storage card is fine).
Install the vzw700wx_a2dp.cab and copy the rest of the files to \Windows
using Resco Explorer or Total Commander. (See README.txt for details).
EDIT: Turn off bluetooth and do a soft reset before attempting to copy the rom files to \Windows. Also make sure applications are closed. Once copied soft reset to make it active. Turn on bluetooth and pair your stereo headphones. You may need to select Wireless Stereo from the bluetooth device list. Click and hold on the device name to get to the popup menu to select Wireless Stereo. Play some songs and enjoy!
EDIT2: To avoid issues delete all paired devices in your bluetooth device list. You will need to pair them all again with the new bluetooth stack that is installed with this update. Some including myself have noticed issues with headsets that were paired prior to the update. Re-pairing using the new stack fixes it right up.

excellent! Nice job Hannip, I hope that tides you over until your 750 comes in (if your still getting that).
On a side note, can you use a standard 1 piece bluetooth handsfree to hear the music with no skipping?

I have my 750, but now I'm not sure whether I'll be keeping it or not. hmm.
You have to use a2dp stereo headphones. The handsfree headset won't work.

Thanks Hannip! First Threaded SMS, then your Mortscripts, now A2DP (and everything else I didn't mention). You keep hooking up the community!
And don't you already have your 750, making this a pure act of kindness??
Edit: Oops. You answered that question.

Very possible that it may fix the dropouts. It's the whole bt stack so if there are any fixes you will get them.

I just copied all of the files to a folder on my storage card, installed treo750a2dp.cab, then copied all but the vxdiff.reg and cab to \Windows. I used dotfred's taskmgr registry editor to import the reg file.
EDIT: The new install doesn't require dotfred's taskmgr or any other registry editor for that matter. There is a new cab install that applies all of the reg settings.

I was playing with the a2dp settings. I set joint stereo to 0 so that true stereo is being transmitted and kept bumping up the bitpool from 30 to 40 to 48. The 700wx handles the load much better than the 750. At 48 bitpool the device is still very useable. On the 750 it brings it down to a crawl. I notice a very short dropout every now and then at 48 bitpool, but it's rare.
Attached is a reg file you can import to get the high quality settings. VZW 700wx users can use it too to improve the sound of course.
EDIT: The new cab install sets joint stereo to 0 and bitpool to 40 which is the best compromise I've found between music quality and system performance.

This is awesome. I have a set of bluetooth headphones for my ipod. I wonder if they will work with the 700wx with these files. It also has buttons on the side for volume, track skip, and play/pause. Curious to see if they work.

It should work fine. The controls should work also. They do with my headphones.

Yeah, make sure all processes are closed and bluetooth off. Best to soft reset first. There still might be a file or two that won't copy. I'll weed those out when I put a cab together. I might not have time to put the cab together with a proper installer until this weekend though.
Signing out for tonight.
