OK now that the 750v is official, explain to me why it's a 750v, not a 700v?
See spec here:
http://euro.palm.com/uk/en/products/treo750v/specs.html
There is no much that's better than the 700wx is it?
Compare to the 700wx, the different is smaller memory slot, smaller battery, probably shorter talk time, comparible data speed.
What's new are A2DP, video ringtone. Does 700wx have mp3 ringtone? I am not sure. So why is it a 750v, instead of a 700v? I think Palm is pulling a fast one here.
edit: and why does get a separated subforum.

Cool, quad-band GSM and tri-mode UMTS! I might have to get one if it comes to the U.S.

Looks pretty good to me. I hope it doesn't take too long to get to the U.S.

WM5 supports MP3 ringtones, that isnt a Treo thing, so yes the 700w/x support MP3 tones. I think a few reasons why it is 750. It is a new form factor and also a whole new radio chipset. 600/650/680 have all used same radio technology. All were 2G. 700 lineup is 3G. Also UMTS allows voice and data, whether the 750 will is up in the air I think still, but that would make even more of a reason, since EVDO Rev 0 doesn't support this.
At any rate the phone does make me fairly happy in my pants. I doubt I buy one, since Cingular has no 3G in my area, but I can still look. Shame about the resolution. I would really like to see a 320x240 that is in landscape mode, similar to the Moto Q. I'm not overly concerned about the wifi, but it would have been nice.

Yeah, the lack of wi-fi is no good but at least it will support a wi-fi card unlike previous models available to us Cingular users.

I think that as the product line becomes more fragmented, Palm will number models rather than generations. Maybe this is a sop to the Europeans who have had to wait so long for any product at all.
Perry, where are you?

Perhaps. However, until Cingular or T-Mobile deploy UMTS in the US, I am not ready to give up POS or a high resolution screen for it.
In any case, that is not a decision that I will have to confront in 2006.
Perry, where are you?

Actually that's the biggest problem I have with it. Why use that purple. That's the freaking BlackBerry color. God get an original color.

They should call it a 700v to remain consistant and create less confusion.
