New Cool Things I Learned on the 750
Old news for many, but wanted to post in an easy place to provide info to others:
1. Microsoft Virtual Earth on 750 w/ HSDPA speed rocks - have Microsoft's newly updated answer to Google Earth on your handheld at high speed.
2. XM Radio streams through Media Player on the 750 - just log into xstreamxm.com/mobile and put in your xm radio log-in info. Streams clean music at 64kBps - works great.
3. Delete the Cingular/BT Bar at the top of your Today screeen to maximize real estate.
4. Fast, clean RSS reading on the 750 with some great news readers available - I use NewsReader.
5. Windows Live mapping on your 750 - directions, maps and integrated search for businesses and restaurants which actually works.
6. Instant messaging on the 750 - fast, useable and addicting.
7. Microsoft's free Links golf game works great and is alot of fun. Great game to carry around for those down times.
The more I use my 750, the more I understand why most manufacturers gave up on Palm and went with WM5. Microsoft may not beat Google online, but they are pulling ahead in the linking of services to the mobile market.
And ultimately, that may give them an advantage.

That doesn't seem to work for me for some reason. I've tried checking the box and unchecking the box, and it doesn't seem to make a difference. Am I missing something?
Thanks

Make sure you hide the Lookup field. The carrier/bluetooth line is tied to the Lookup field. You also want to move the hidelogo check to the bottom of the list.

FYI...the lookup field will still work even when you hide it. Just start typing your contact's name when on the Today screen and you will see.

Okay, I see it now. I was going to the Today screen settings and looking for it there with the plugins.
Thanks, that did it.

Not to mention that the beta MS Live Search works great with 3G!

Something I just learned today is that if you want to send an SMS to someone, just use the Today Screen Lookup field to find the right contact. Then, rather than pressing the green call button or doing a short press on the d-pad centre button to call them, instead hold down the d-pad centre button (ie long press).
This will pop up a menu giving you the option to send a Text Message (or an email if you have their email address). Select Text Message and you are then taken to the Messaging app with that contact already filled in as the recipient.

I'd like to ask if this is necessary for the Vodafone 750 too? Thanks!

One thing I've noticed on the 'hide logo' hack-type app -
After installing that app, when you're on a call, the top bar/line area will show whatever pixels are now at the top of your today screen - where the carrier logo/BT, etc icons used to be. Looks a little strange, but no big deal.
