To re-state: From TWC_PHILLY, backlight, 00000001,00000078,00000000,00000001,00000078,00000258,00000000. The 800w registry. (it works).

I installed Resco, and it fixed the dimmer problem. Thanks all for the info and help.

Sent 2 returns saying PHM registry editor @ pocketpcfreewares.com it's free. But I'm glad you fixed your dimming.

Good you got that worked out Glenada. Your preference is far from obscure and I made the same fix as you when I had an 800w.

You're going to find that Resco Explorer and Registry editor are invaluable tools to have. I'd also recommend SKTools, another good one to have.

Where exactly are you plugging in these numbers in the registry? Or do you mean create your own file and insert it?

Cool

I thought I posted this, I learned this from TWC_Philly, for the 800 backlight(which prevents dimming as long as the boxes are un-checked in 'Menu/settings/system
Now if you use PHM registry Editor ( posted in my other thread), you simply go to :
HKCU/ControlPanel/Backlight

in the files you change the values in this order:
ACBacklightTap -1 ( ooooooo1)
ACTimeout -78(00000078)
ACTimeoutunchecked-0(00000000)
Backlightontap-1 (00000001)
Batterytimeout-78 (00000078)
Baterrytimeout2-258(00000258)
Baterrytimeoutunchecked-0(00000000)
Now as you delete the old & put in the new, with ea. one you tap the OK, it will ask you if you want to do this, you tap the center button to say yes. OK-Now after you've done all this give your 800 a few minutes to re-write the scripts you've changed. Then you soft re-set your 800 & everything is in place & working properly. Dimming is gone. Thanks & good luck. Oh, let us know how you made out.
