Woy Certainly! (Curly speak). My headset sucked until I got the pairing right. It took some advice from the brilliant people on this site. I don't know how they ever figured this out, but here goes:

First, go to your file manager program. (I use the one off of Zlauncher) If you haven't installed one, this would be a good time to get a program that shows you a list of the files on your handset. Find the files name "Bluetooth cache" and "Bluetooth trusted devices" and delete them. Leave the Bluetooth pref alone.

Second, go to your HBH-300 and press down on both sides of your volume switch, unitl the LED blinks alternately red and green. Then, go to the Bluetooth setup program on your handheld and click on "setup devices" At first, you will get a listing for "Unnamed Audio Device." This is the key to a successful pairing. Click on this right away, before your handset figures out it is a HBH-300. When it asks for your pass code, type in "0000." You're done. Pairing by this procedure will cause that headset to pick up incoming and outgoing calls as fast as lightening. Don't ask me why this works, I didn't. You don't look a gift horse in the mouth. My only issue with the HBH-300 is that you have to go through this whole procedure again if you have a soft reset, because it becomes un-paired. Good luck!

SailRace, you may come work for me and make 6-7 figures. You posted something of SUBSTANCE and VALUE and offered a SOLUTION. 90% of the other posts in this thread were useless chit-chat.

My pleasure to be of some help. I eventually shelved the 660 because i found the Logitech Mobile Freedom Pro, which actually behaved like a full-duplex headset, which the 660 definltey is not. After using it for 2 months, i'm ready to shelve it too. I'm still not convinced there is a perfect solution here. Unfortunately, the cross body static is a nasty phenomenon that is a result of the bluetooth technology used. It just won't transmit through something that close to it. Strangely enough, i can use my headset in one room, while the treo is in another with no problem, but with my body in the way, static galore.

To answer your questions, i found the 660 to be very comfortable for long use with the eargels. They really are pleasant to use, and no, they don't block out all other noise, so you can still hear around them. I still think that's the way to go. I think, if you like the rest of the features, this is your best bet. In fact i still believe that the 660 with ear gels is the best setup i've used. Hte logitech seemed great, but it has let me down, and the volume on it seems to have gotten worse over time. I'm waiting on delivery of a Plantronics 640, and will let you know how it goes. If that fails, i may try the Sony 300, and if no luck there, i'll come back to the 660. My problem there is battery life, which truly is abismal....i have to charge the 660 every night, and that can be annoying at times. I also agree, while the caller id, in theory is a great idea, in execution, it just doesn't work....more of a gimic than anything else. Sony is close with this headset, but not quite there.

As for working for you...let me know...i'm in acqusiiton and development work myself, and am alwasy entertaining offers. Where are you located anyway, and if you're serious, perhaps we can talk.

I use FileZ. I see in here there are files named 'BT Library & BT Device'. Should They stay or go?

How did you keep the gels from ripping? I just ripped 3 of them. Got the Jabra ones from radio shack.

I am still on my 1st one....over 12 months now. I was in a warm car so despite the outside temps in the 20's I had no problem. Maybe try soaking in some warm water.

Rcvd my Scala-500 yesterday, after reading this thread, Happy with purchase, Had tried three others previously, all fell short, due to volume issue all fell short, Scala is better, still could be a little better, but the best yet by far

So again, what is the consensus? Cardo Scala 500 or SE HBH-660 / HBH662 paired with the Jabra eargels. I am debating between both. Which set is the call-waiting feature eaiser to switch over to? Please let me know. Thanks all.
