After the hard reset and restore, mine is working fine now, not missing any calls. Knock knock.

I agree, I will not be able to tolerate a phone that misses incoming calls. It's worse than dropping calls, in which case at least I can call again.

Considering palm has abandoned windows.... I'd say we will never see a fix.

I am having, and have had for the entire life of the phone, major problems with dropped calls. I have an unlocked GSM Treo Pro that I am using on Rogers in Canada. My old Motorola V220 had no problems. This Treo misses every other call. This thread seems to find issue with just CDMA versions.

Should I just return it (to expansys.ca) ?

Ideas ?

/desperate.

Seems like a an easy choice... I would return it.

At this point, I doubt if we will see an official update to fix this issue.

I've read that this mod survives the flash to 1.04. But, I have unlocked the phone, flashed one of the cooked 6.5 roms, and then reflashed back to the stock 1.04. Do I need to apply this fix again?

I wouldn't bother. Really didn't seem to fix the issue anyway (IMO).

I'll be getting a new Treo Pro soon from a 800w. Do you think this step/patch is necessary?

This patch does not fix anything... you could argue it helps, I guess. Dunno...

I purchased with the idea palm would release an update sometime over the summer or late fall...

I was wrong... not sure why anyone would purchase it now. All good! Each his/her own!

edit: sprint version... gsm version is fine...

What the heck are these numbers and what do they signify?

they are the line item #'s that preceed the values that need to be modified in QPST.

An easier and surefire way of getting your MSL is posted here @ PPCGeeks.

hxxp://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=87414

I can confirm that it works and you dont have to install .NET CF.

Wow. Long thread. Okay.

First off, I'm really glad I found this site.

I have the Sprint Treo Pro. I'm now showing no bars whatsoever. I don't now about incoming calls because I don't have another phone to test it with. Fixing to read the other Sprint Treo Pro Missing Calls thread that was mentioned on a previous page - dunno what's happening there. I hope it's just the registering of the bars and I actually DO have a decent signal. I guess I can always switch it back to the original values if nothing else. Yeah - disappointing to think you are gonna have such an awesome phone then THIS nonsense.

Somebody mentioned that Bluetooth update. Yeah that killed audio on mine too. Happened JUST BEFORE I was getting ready to go out of town, too. Freaked me out! Went to the Sprint store and they hard reset it and it worked fine again. People would call me and I'm talking and they couldn't hear me. Then after I got where I was going it hit me I'd updated the Bluetooth so that must have killed it. I wouldn't recommend anybody doing the Bluetooth update, unless they've fixed IT as well.

Uhm. Good luck folks.

Please Help!

I tried to do this hack without help but failed. The problem is that when I press ##diag# my phone immediately disconnects from my computer. Activesync shows not connected and windows gives me a found new hardware generic serial device message. Obviously it thus doesn't prompt me to install anything. I do see the DMR v2.31 screen but I can't do anything with it. I really help someone can help me with this problem and I'm actually kind of surprised no one else has had this problem. Am I just not that smart?

Okay, now some comments on this whole issue. I have to say that it is pretty ridiculous that Sprint won't correct this problem. I'm not sure if this problem is even primarily the Treo Pro's fault. I'd say it's more of an issue that Sprint's network is terrible!!! I live in the middle of a major city and I drop calls like crazy and miss many calls sometimes. One night my girlfriend had to run over to my house because she was calling me all night and just nothing would go through. Pathetic! I've talked to Sprint several times and they are just like. "Well you should get an Airave." They don't offer me one for free or anything and they leave it up to me to find out how much it would cost.I am not going to buy something for $100 just to get my phone to be acceptable and then on top of that pay an extra $5 a month. Oh yea and basically that would be like paying extra money to allow my internet provider to take care of the voice calling for my phone.

Anyone have any advice on what I should do. I have a feeling this hack won't really solve my problem. I took the phone to the store today and they didn't even want to test it because the representative there was like your in a low signal area too bad. I am particularly interested in ways to get Sprint to give me what I deserve. Which I think would either be a free Airave or to allow me to cancel my contract without a fee. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sprint's network is fine... very good, actually. I moved from the treo pro which had missed calls issue and used a Treo 700w, q9c, tp2, and other sprint phones... never had an issue with reception (well, except with the treo 800). Not a sprint issue.

You want a free airwave... but that won't solve your issue when you are not in the house. Now your GF will have to fun out and try to find you in town. lol

I'd sell the treo pro on ebay and purchased a real phone from sprint... something that you can use as a phone. lol

I think the Treo Pro would be great for a teenager that does only texting. My texts ALWAYS come through lol.

Well thanks for the help theog
No seriously why the hell does it disconnect from my computer when I dial ##diag# ? How else am I supposed to connect to my computer? I've read this entire thread and haven't seen a solution to this problem.

"Sprint's network is fine... very good, actually. I moved from the treo pro which had missed calls issue and used a Treo 700w, q9c, tp2, and other sprint phones... never had an issue with reception (well, except with the treo 800). Not a sprint issue."

Well Sprint's network may be better where you live but here in Texas it is not good. If it's the case that it's not the network, then why do all the tech support people at Sprint just say sorry our network won't work well where you live. Your just going to have to outside to place calls. That's basically what the guy at the Sprint store told me today. If it is the phone that is just ****ty it seems like a reputable company would replace it or at least give me some sort of rebate.

"u want a free airwave... but that won't solve your issue when you are not in the house. "

Actually if I could get service in my home it would solve basically all my problems. I get decent reception most other places.

"I'd sell the treo pro on ebay and purchased a real phone from sprint... something that you can use as a phone. lol"

I am fairly certain I will not go with Sprint again. Even if I have to eat the disconnect fee. I think it will be worth it to go with a provider like Verizon that actually has good coverage.

"I think the Treo Pro would be great for a teenager that does only texting. My texts ALWAYS come through lol."

Actually I have had problems with texts not coming through for up to 30 minutes or an hour too, and then coming in randomly. I.E getting a text tagged as being sent at 7:30 and then getting one tagged as being sent at 7:15.

Anyways if anyone has any actual help that would be really cool.

I had the same text issue with my treo pro as well.

Listen, it is not a good phone. You can't change that. Getting upset about won't change that fact. The truth is the treo pro WANTS to be a good phone... it really does. If sprint were to release an update it would be a great phone.

And if your network in Texas is crappy, then move to a network that works for you!!! Tell sprint you do not have good reception and they will WAIVE your early termination fee (I JUST did this for my mom and dad so they could move from verizon to ATT).

As others stated, this fix is not really a fix... might be good you can't get it started, I'd not waste my time (again for me... I put this fix in my treo pro). I'm very sorry to tell you this.
