Recently my treo pro has started to experience that strange phenomenon where it claims to have a new text message, but I can't find it. End result is my screen saver always tells me there's a new text message...which makes it fairly useless. I did a hard reset and a Sprite restore to an earlier date and it worked fine for a while but the error just reappeared. I also noticed that person I was talking to disappeared from my SMS list, which could be a part of the problem.

Anyone else have this problem and know the cause/solution?

Are you syncing your Pro to Outlook? or syncing it to your computer?

infrequently at best. i haven't synced it in the last couple of days and the error just appeared a few minutes ago.

Look to software... see if there was something installed before the backup.

I might perform a hard reset and rebuilt it by hand. Install each app one by one... slowly to see if I find what is causing it.

Odd if just happening out the blue....
