Maturin

Currently, the alert sound/vibration is activated by sms or IMs received via the messaging app. I, for one, could definitely use this extended to email messages as well. I'm running around at work all day with my phone in my pocket, and I often miss time sensitive emails cause my phone doesn't do something to let me know they came in.
If this functionality already exists though WebOS or some patch, i'll happily delete this thread.

I'm confused. You can get either a vibration or an audio notification for emails. It is only either / or, is that what you want changed?

OK then, I must be mistaken then. Currently I have no sound or vibration when I get an email. How do I change this? Sorry for the apparently unnecessary thread...

Go into email, Preferences & Accounts, select each account, and turn on either "Play Sound" or "Vibrate" for the accounts you want it to do that for.
